MSM Purity

So I just tested the purity of my NSI (Vita Cost) MSM... and it failed. ALL of the contents floated and none of it dissolved. So I will not purchase this brand again (anything form this brand).

I also tested my 2 year old bottle of powder MSM form puratin's pride and it passed the test prefectly. Only problem is it does not have that sulfer smell to it and never has so I am spektical about it too.

What do you ladies think? And can anyone recommend a proven quality brand of MSM to me (in capusle or tablet form)?

I use to take capsules and they failed the water test. I now take MSM Sulfer powder by Jarrow Formulas. It sunk to the bottom and disolves very quickly. It's also OptiMSM which is suppose to be very pure. I love it. I no longer have ANY joint pains. My hair is more mangable than it's ever been.

It comes with a little scooper and if I take more than one scoop a day I get migraines. So taking one scoop a day (1,000mg) with 64oz of water is extremely easy.

I take this brand in pill form as well and have had great results with it myself @CurlyMoo :yep:.

I'm thinking about trying Seanson's brand MSM. Has anyone here tried their brand?
I haven't but Samson's vitamins are fairly priced so you could get a small bottle and do the float test on it and let us know. I know for sure that the Jarrow Formula brand (1000 mg) is a great brand so I'm sticking with that one.

I just received my Swanson Brand MSM in today and the first thing I did was a purity test. The entire amount sunk straight to the bottom.

You also shouldn't be using MSM with silicion dioxide or magnesium stearate. The ingredients should just say msm and nothing else if its powder. If its a capsule it should just be a veggie or gelatin cap and msm.

Good girlie. Be sure to take it with something high in vitamin c for maximum absorption. I throw mine in my green smoothies because I use lots of berries, cherries, etc. Thus far I have only done 1 tsp in my 2 32 ounce smoothies. I will add more soon like 1 TBSP in my Vitamix canister because I make 2 32 ounce smoothies that I place in mason jars. I use my Vitamix about every 2 days.
I'm using the powder and the only ingredient is MSM.

Ah OK... I have been use the Source Naturals powder for years. I get mine from Pure Formulas because of the free shipping and buy the biggest container whenever they email me a discount. I always mix a heaping teaspoon with either grape juice or lemonade for the vitamin C boost.
