... As hot as an afternoon in Hades when I wear it out in the spring time/summertime. I was not prepared. I'm trying to rock a braid out and am sweating bullets . How are you ladies dealing with the summer time heat?

I'm a puff/protective style girl. I used to rarely wear it down. But my hair has grown out of the awkward stages now so I'm trying to enjoy it. This extra insulation is unexpected lol.

It was really hot yesterday and I have it straightened and curled. It held up. It rained today and it's still going strong, but I'm ready to wash and deep condition my hair.

I just spritz it with water, slather some coconut oil on it, and put it in a bun. I can't deal. I called myself wearing it out a couple of days ago and as soon as I got to work I had to put it away. I love the humidity because it really does wonders for the health of my hair, but I just have to come to terms with not being very styled during the summer. Oh well.

I have a lot of serums and oils in my hair. I used Keracare humidity block oil sheen. I used anti frizz serums, coconut oil. And I gave myself a good trim. I also didn't use any products that would draw moisture in.
My roots are not bone straight anymore, but they are still very straight and smooth.

I been wearing roll and tuck styles because i cant be bothered with this heat. I keep it hydrated do my weekly DC treatments.

Just the same as you. Lol... I started wearing WashnGos again cause it's the only style that with stands the humidity

I've been told by every stylist who pressed my hair that my hair "holds heat" or stays hot longer after they pass the flat iron through my hair. Maybe my hair is holding the sun's heat from outside and is causing me to feel extra hot.

It's not so much the heat as the humidity for me. My hair is no longer heat trained as I stopped being an exclusive straight haired natural 7 months ago. On the few occasions I've blow-dried it, the humidity reverts it pretty quickly. I haven't flat ironed since March so not sure how it will behave when it's flat-iron straight. I suspect if it's extremely humid I would have to put in a bun within hours.

Oh and I use the highest setting that my hair can stand (safe) to flat iron my hair. My hair will poof right back up with the temps most ladies use on this board. And if your ends are not in good shape, they will revert quickly too!

My wash and gos stay wet most of the day so that helps with the heat.. My hair is thick and hold on to moisture..

I wish wash and go was an option for me. The closest thing can do is cowashing my twists. It's so refreshing!

...so easy. For the first few years (like 7 or 8), I was doing the most. Now I've got my routine down to 30 mins a week. That's less time than when I was relaxed. BTW, I just realized that today is my 10 year anniversary. Woot woot!
