So everytime I look up product suggestions it's always for low or high porosity. Ours is overlooked cuz it's so low key but like I need products too *rolls eyes*

I still haven't been able to find a good leave in. They either weigh my hair down or doesn't hydrate it enough or makes it feel like I put alcohol on it rather than a moisturizer. Please what products have worked for you?

Have you tried kinky curly knot today or giovanni direct leave in? I've used both and they work great as far as moisturizing my normal porosity hair.

I also find that using warm water when I'm shampooing to open the cuticle for the deep conditioner and using straight cold water when I'm rinsing the dc out makes my hair recieve and retain moisture better.

Do you mean normal porosity?

I'm normal porosity. I use Garnier sleek n shine cream. My hair is always left soft and moisturized. I've tried others (higher end and all natural) but I always return to this.

I'm texlaxed and my hair's porosity is also normal and I find that KCKT (kinky Curly Knot Today really does work as a great leave in but I also use Redken Anti Snap Leave-in which I also love but it has proteins in it so if your hair is protein sensitive, you may want to skip this one. My hair loves protein.

Rusk has a really good one called Rusk Sensories Smoother Conditioner (passionflower and aloe leave-in conditioner). You can find this one on http://www.sleekhair.com/7835.html. All the best.

I'm normal porosity as well and, for me, nothing beats PBN Muru Muru or Sapote Lotion.

@PJaye, I swear I'm low porosity although my hair analysis concluded I was normal to high. At any rate, PBN MM works great on my hair. The lotion was too light back in the day. It might work better now that I'm transitioning.

I used to think I was high porosity too until my hair told me otherwise. Unless the analysis did a study of multiple samples of your hair that were taken over a period of time, I advise you to stick with your gut. Your porosity may have been a bit high when the sample was gathered, but that may not be it's norm. Or, it may have been corrected since the analysis. This is why I think it's best to study several samples over time. So, if the low porosity methods are working for you, I say keep doing 'em.:yep:

Sis, I'm still upset about the reformulation-rebranding thing because the Muru and Sapote are such huge staples. I get such lush, highly moisturized hair for days with those products, and the new Muru doesn't perform the same for me. It looks the same, but it doesn't have that Leonidas kick to it that its predecessor had. Besides, the new Sapote doesn't have the same ingredients, so I didn't even bother with it. Still, give them a try because they may prove to be effective for you, especially since transitioning can be a challenge. And, congratulations on your decision to transition, BTW. I look forward to to hearing about your experiences.

The Giovanni one made my hair crunchy. My hair liked the KKNT as far as slip, but I didn't feel it moisturized well unless I did the kimmay tube leave in with it which I would love to do but all 4 products together cost like $45-$50 so an alternative would be great

I'm in love with KBB leave-in. It used to be in Target.
Thanks I'll look that up!

Hhmmm never heard of that. I've actually never tried their line before surprisingly

I've literally never heard of those. The PJ in me is ecstatic *off to do research*

The porosity thing is way overrated. porous things float dense things sink. (you can easily look it up) the water glass porosity test is a sham. Just use products that make your hair happy. hth
I'm not going by the float test. I'm going by how my hair acts and how easy it is to maintain and how I can easily retain length even with neglecting it for weeks and how it doesn't endlessly crave moisture like high porosity hair or repel it like low porosity hair
