Anyone Using Infusium 23?

I used to use it for the longest time, then they changed the formula and expanded to shampoos and conditioners but looks like at some point they came back with the original formula. Any reviews?

Yes! I started to re-buy the new 'old' formula. I like to use it in my leave-ins when I do the baggie method with a ponytail. It seems to add strength to my hair. If I don't mix it with water and doctor it up a bit, it leaves a crunch. I used to love me that greasy Queen Helen cholesterol conditioner and this. My staples used to be Creme of Nature shampoo, Queen Helene mixed down with olive oil and honey and Infusium. I was sooooooo inconvenienced when they changed the formulas to CON and Infusium.

Surge is back. I wish I could get my tail bone length hair back, right along with it. Sigh...

@Lucia, girl, excuse me. You didn't ask me all of this...It's interesting, though. I feel like this board is swinging back to how it was when I first joined in that products and post feel familiar and cozy!

Girl please you can hijack any thread of mine and write a book if you want. No problem you're dropping that hair knowledge on us. No apologies necessary.
I was thinking of buying it again and adding it to my mister. As you can see I'm still tweaking my staple products.
Do you take any vitamins? Or hair supplements? I'm back on that too.
I loved that cholesterol too I wonder if here's a comparable one out now?
Any suggestions ladies?

I appreciate it @Lucia! Thank you.

I take kelp, spirullina, chlorella, fish oil, vitamin B complex, vitamin D and a few others for my body. My hair textured has changed again and is starting to become more coarse again. That means it sort of does a creep walk toward gaining more length and it is super dry. So I have to change up my hair process to address the hair changes. Sometimes I find a good change to soften and get the hair retention going strong and sometimes I don't and my hair breaks on the ends and hovers at the same length for long periods of time. So I too may revisit that simple regimen I had. I doubt if I will go back to Creme of Nature, though.

I used to love it when I was relaxed. I would use it to wet wrap my hair. It has great slip, I loved the smell, and the cones in the product made my hair super smooth and silky when my hair dried.

I haven't tried it on my natural hair but I plan to when I rollerset then flat iron.

I bring it into the hair salon so my stylist can use it. After rinsing out the deep conditioner, he oils my hair thoroughly. Then he parts my hair into four sections and saturates Infusium 23 on each section and detangles my hair. It just melts those tangles away.

I used it on my natural hair when braiding it up in mini braids or extensions.

I've always used it in my braid spray mix with water and a moisturizing condish.

Now that I'm texlaxed, I use it about once or twice per week to do a braid out with my moisturizing condish.

I have fine hair and I've found this to be an easy way to add protein into my regi. I also like that it's very watery.

I loved this stuff when I used to wear butt-length braids. Those were the days. I think I need a bottle for strengthening anyway. I have a lot of moisturizing spray leave-ins but no protein and I need a little balance of both. I will look into getting a bottle asap, plus it's a lot cheaper than the Redken Anti-Snap I used before....AND I get more product for my coins.

Like another poster said, when I used to use Infusium 23 back in the day, it made my hair crunchy. I now use it in my braid spray (along with glycerin, water, SAA and oil) and love it.

Thanks for the tip. I do have some glycerin that I can add to it. Hmm, maybe I should look into getting some naturesilk as well :scratchchin:

I use the second braid spray recipe in this post:

http://www.blackhairinformation.com...y-easy-but-effective-homemade-braid-sprays/2/

Because my hair loves protein, I also add a capful of neutral protein filler or hydrolyzed keratin. In my last batch, I added both.
Thanks. I ordered the bolded yesterday and in the link you gave me, I have most of those ingredients on hand right now, all except the sandalwood EO. I do have some sandalwood fragrant oil though that I can use instead. This should be fine for now. My hair loves protein as well.

I use when I want a light watery leave in. It's wasnt amazing or anything for me but it works great for braids to minimize build up.

Thanks for the info
I'm with you on simplifying the regimen that's always when I get the maximum growth and most retention.
I wouldn't use he new cream of nature either unles they go mostly or all natural.
I found Original Infusium 23 at Sally's picked it up and started using it again. It helps calm down my frizz and my hair feels stronger like I did a light protein treatment then I add my cream leave in and seal with Argan oil no crunch at all.

I might try this technique to detangle. Would you mind explaining it more please? What was the step after detangling your hair? Thanks!

I used some original Infusium the other day on a wet bun. The smell makes me nostalgic, I used this as a teenager when I was relaxed. My hair was MBL then and very strong/healthy. I've decided to go back to what was working then. There's no reason I should have had hair that was practically to my waist with a relaxer but can't get past CBL natural.

I used it for years and stopped using just a few ago. Bought some the other day and I just don't like it. It's changed and my hair is hard with it.
