What's A Good Natural Leave In Conditioner For A A Baby's Hair?

Hello

My baby is 10 & 1/2 months old and while she doesn't have a lot of hair, it can feel just a tiny bit dry. For me personally the only things that work on my hair without making it feel too greasy is qhemet biological burdock root and I sometimes use the Darcy's botanicals but I don't feel either one is a good match for her hair. My hair is like a 4b and hers is probably like a 2 something. Maybe a 3 something later in life, I just don't know right now. I'm looking for something without glycerin. Something very natural but also very light that will still add some moisture. I'm thinking of maybe even a spray, but those don't really work on me so I never used them much and have no idea what to try.

Thanks :)

When my daughter was younger I used just coconut oil on her hair while it was wet. She didn't have much hair from birth to about a year so that worked fine. When her hair got longer and fuller I still used coconut oil first but then added a light leave in or hair milk on top. That kept her hair moisturized. SM's conditioners and leave in's work for her hair and during the summer Anabelle's Perfect Blend's daily sprays or liquid leave In's were great.

How often are you washing or wetting her hair?

My little one is almost 8 months. He has big curls ,tight curls and straight fluff. I use Soultanicals on him a lot. My favorite product for him is the baby detangler. I'm not sure if it had glycerin but the slip is insane. It leaves his hair really moisturized. I use the Knot Sauce on him as well. Usually seal it in with an oil.

I was using Cream and Coco hair and body milk from the Baby line but I don't like the shipping delay.

I'd say go with something light and a tad bit of oil ..

@curlyhersheygirl I get her hair wet probably every day but only wash it maybe twice a week and then put a little dab of the jessicurl weekly deep treatment for a conditioner. It's not terribly dry it's just a little bit and I just want her hair to be well taken care of ALWAYS so she doesn't ever go through what I went though.

@shawnyblazes i thought the ladies in our group were having major problems with soultanticals. Like horrible shipping and customer service. Girls weren't too happy around here with them last year. So that's all changed? Lol

It's been hit or miss. She's on the ground now. I have a huge amount of her products so I'm using that on him. I'd be happy if she brought the baby line to Target. @sparkle25

Always on her wet hair sometimes only one sometimes a combination of the following :
- aloe vera gel
- shea butter after I put it on her skin I just put my hands in her hair
- oils used : jojoba, coprah

Her hair on the back tends to be dryer due to sleepling on the back I guess. She's 11 months.

Alaffia make a nice, light leave-in for babies. I used it for both my kids when they were infants. I am still using it on my daughter (23 months), but I now layer it with Camille Rose coconut water products.

I agree with the other suggestions of natural items, and lines such as Annabelle's and SheScentIt. I also recommend Oyin's Juices and Berries, which you can get at Target. It does have glycerin, but the amount seems to be much less than other sprays I've tried that didn't work for me.

Is there a LHCF discount code ? Also is there one for soultanticals? I quickly looked in the Vendor section and didn't see anything. Can someone inbox me the codes if so?

I started cowashing his hair and then putting shea butter in it after. It seems to work well and helped his very fine hair recover after I stupidly brushed it while it was wet to get out playground sand. I got some coconut oil I plan to try next.

Honestly, it's not necessary to put anything in a baby's hair. All they need is clean hair. I have 3 boys, never did anything to their hair and their hair has always thrived.

I normally would agree with you, @PinkSunshine77 but her hairs feel dry. I haven't put anything in her hair other than some sulfate free shampoo and conditioner since she was born, and I don't even wash her hair but maybe, at the most, twice a week, & sometimes not even that.
