Taren Guy Vs Natural Hair Show

Welp, y'all called it.
I know right. I knew this was gonna happen but dang she's done all this in like a 2 week period lol. Created locs from a twist out and called it free forming, gone to a loctician to have them palm rolled, added hair to the ends, combed it all out and is now starting over on a true free form journey....:drunk:

I don't see her free forming long. I don't think she's gonna like the process and awkward stages plus she can't constantly mess in her hair and change it up every couple weeks.

I'm so glad someone posted that. I saw her instagram video and rolled my eyes so hard.

Also her "boyfriend" posted a birthday message for her talking about "it's not when I'll propose, it's when you'll say yes." Never mind that they were "engaged" when she was pregnant with his child.

I'm usually on team "you do you and I'll do me" but Taren irks me with her constant metamorphosis that never sticks. She's always something new and it comes across as disingenuous.
This! She's always seeking and trying to find something. It seems she really is looking for something deep, something she can cling to, it's also a form of escape from reality. From taking a real look at herself objectively, it probably helps her to continue disconnect from her kids because she's on this journey of constantly seeking the next best thing. She comes off crazy and unstable. The kids thing really bothers me the most. Like I'm really curious to know her thoughts and feelings about that. That is just so awful to me. I love children so much and have such a desire to nurture them and listen to them and I'm not a mom. Even in one of her most recent videos you could hear little Ace in the background and she was just so unmotherly. Most moms would have mentioned their kid in a warm 'mommy' way, something.

So maybe I'm shallow (which I know I'm not) or maybe I just don't care but why is everything so "spiritual" with Taren and folks like her.

Her "locs" are spiritual
She ties 2 cowrie shells around her extensions in remembrance a hairstyle she just had 2 weeks ago
She can't buy a tank top without conducting a transformational analysis
She finds her life meaning in the bottom of her Starbucks cup

I just get tired listening to her because nothing she does can ever be simple, straightforward, or simply "because she wants to."

This is exactly what I mean. It's like, at what point to you start to love and accept yourself when your transformation is never complete. Some people think that they if they are constantly in motion then it automatically equals growth.

I'm not a Taren stan but she keeps changing her HAIR. LOL ....Tons of Youtube Vloggers change their hair on a monthly basis. Taren got her start in the YT industry due to her hair. No comment on the other decisions she has chosen for her life but then again I don't look to her for inspiration.

I think that's what everyone wants her to say, that she's changing her hair because she wants to. Period. But instead she posts 39 minute diatribes about the spiritual connection she has with her hair. And then proceeds to change it two weeks later.

If she was just experimenting with different hairstyles that would be cool. She can leave the fake spiritual connection out of it.

In my opinion.

I will say that what Taren has shared about her personal life and upbringing has been a lot for any one person to go through. I think she really is searching for something and I hope she finds it.

I'm unfollowing her and her bf on social media because I find it disingenuous. She has every right to post what she wants to post. I just don't want to see it.

Calling @BillsBackerz67

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but that 'calling to Christianity' video was chilling and not in a good way.
Lol that's cuz you're a nice person. I am not.:abducted: This bih is nuttier than a fruit cake. I can't believe the amount of people caping for this nonsense. like people are really hailing this woman as a loc connoisseur after 15 days of her big announcement with loose hair. Unreal.

I remember when people were going nuts over her and I just kept my feelings to myself about her. Didn't want to seem like a "hater".

Taren is one of those girls that, IRL, unless I worked with her or she lived on my floor, I would never exchange words with her. If she dated a family member, I would avoid him and make her the last person I say hello to, then go out of my way to not speak to her. There is something about her face, her in general, that I don't trust.

Looking at her face gives me chills. Like the devil is smiling at me :(

Are you all really surprised at her fickle ways. I remember how she would constantly heat damagr her hair. Say she'll never straighten and a month later it's straight.
I am only because I didn't know her history. Honestly, I only know her from the one 4c wash 'n go video w/Anthony Dickey. Even after viewing that I didn't follow her on youtube or IG, nor did I research her...because I for one just did not like her hair. I don't know, to me it made her look like this huge, out-of-place amazon woman.

But I am shocked that she has all this history and folks LOVE her. All it takes is a simple google search.

Like she's the only baby-momma, smh. You watch her vids on hair for the HAIR. I'm sure there is only so far one can go to styling, conditioning, dying, blonding, re-dying, re-blonding, cutting, growing...the same head of hair. Maybe she needed something new. Otherwise, it's all redundant. They were wrong for reneging on that offer and her personal life is her own personal life, aside from the HAIR. I don't agree with her choices but people are too hard on her. She should set her goals higher, like Olaplex or something. Redken? Get treated by the absolute top salons and not this janky minority business-type practices that we all complain about. SMH. I hope she gets a HUGE deal somewhere.

Hello ladies,
Here is the other side of the story from the event organizer, Julian:

Part 2 below...,

Well, that explains it but she should leave religion out of it. I hate it when people do that. Just be professional. And speaking of being professional, don't fight business wars on Instagram/Twitter/Youtube/Facebook etc. SMH

Why should she get a top deal from high end white folks products/salons when she just said trying to free form and use water only? Makes no sense.

Taren isn't just a baby-momma, but a baby-momma who lost custody of her three previous children for being a non-existent mother, two of which I believe have autism.

Too busy trying to start and stop hair journeys and plan retreats and ask for funding, but can't find the time to take care of your kids? Yeah, okay.

Poohbear

Fearfully Wonderfully Made
When I first came across Taren's hair videos several years ago, I never followed her or jumped on the bandwagon with her fans because her hair does not represent my natural hair texture. Not only that, I always had this feeling that she was trying to prove her "Blackness" so-to-speak or prove how nappy her hair is when it really isn't. I don't know about her personal issues, but I've always felt like she has always tried to seek attention from anywhere she can get it.

After reading through this thread, I knew the vendors didn't just cancel her only for her so-called locs. The vendors are about getting consumers to use their products, and if you don't use products then why should you be a host at the event? I see where some have said she was only there to share entrepreneur blogging tips, but there were other requirements for the hosts, one being using and promoting a hair product.

I also feel like she is not going to stay with these so-called locs for long. Just like that youtube video someone posted after she combed out her locs... she's trying to call her loose twistout the start of free form locs. Get outta here with that BS!
