Hello ladies and gentlemen! Just wanted to introduce myself and to say hello to everyone.

I was an active member of this site some years ago and decided to rejoin again after missing in action for years.

I am happy to say that though,I was away from this forum, I was still taking care of my hair and using all the tips and tricks I learned from this forum.

I started my journey with shoulder lenght, dry and brittle relaxed hair and after learning from you wonderful ladies and this great site, my hair has grown to the middle of my back and its pretty healthy.:)

Back home in Ghana, we were made to believe that, our hair cannot grow no matter what we do to it. I did it ladies, anyone can get healthy hair and with the health comes the lenght! Believe in yourselves, take good care of your hair, love your hair, make time for your hair, treat it gently, love your hair ladies! Its beautiful and it does GROW with care:)!

Sorry for the rant:)

Here are a few videos on my hair growth journey. The last video is a lenght check I did a week ago.

Welcome back!

Nice length!

The curious person in me wants to know:
  1. What is your hair's porosity? Low, normal/medium, or high?
  2. What are your favorite products?
  3. What's your regimen?
  4. When you spell length, you consistently spell it l-e-n-g-h-t instead of ending it in t-h. Is that a language thing, like color versus colour?
:welcome:
Thank you.:)
Thanks for the corrections. It is a language thing. I should probably use google to correct those.

1.My hair porosity is high. I do regular moisture+protein treatments to keep the porosity in check. I also use a product called "french perm stabilizer" to help maintain a normal porosity. I ocassionally do ACV-rinses.
2.My favourite products are: hawaiian silky miracle worker, castor oil, coconut oil, olive oil creme relaxer.
3.I texlax my hair aprox.every 4months, deep condition once a week, moisturize my hair once a day, massage my scalp a couple of days a week, I dont use any form of heat on my hair, I cover my head before going to sleep and I wear protective styles(buns, braids) almost on daily basis.
4. I will note my spelling, thanks for correcting me Sis:)

Welcome back

Man, youtubers be hustling for views and subscribers ;)
Thanks.
I posted the youtube links so that members can see my lenght. If I get a few views or subscribers as a bonus, why not. We are here to support each other, right? Nothing wrong with that.

Hey Welcome back!

Do you Texlax yourself? Can you describe the process? Thanks.
Thank you:)
Yes,I texlax myself. Here is how I do it:
1.I protect my scalp and hairline with coconut oil
2. I oil the already processed parts of my hair with coconut oil
3. I pre-part my hair into 4 sections and detangle my hair, seperate any tangles and knots.
4. I put the relaxer using my fingers, only to the new growth, wearing gloves
5. I dont comb through, I just use my fingers to smooth out the relaxer section by section.
6. I wash the relaxer off after 10minutes
7. After rinsing off the relaxer, I use french perm stabilizer to bring down/normalize the porosity of my hair.
8. I neutralize my hair with the neutralizing shampoo 4-5times
9. I deep condition my hair and style.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for sharing!

You're welcome!: I'm always glad when folks help me improve my writing/communication, especially if it's something tiny that is easily fixed!

See you around the forum!

Did you terlax throughout your entire HHJ?

I started with relaxing my hair straight...not bone straight but close to that. I realized later that I didnt like the straight look and my hair was getting thinner. I started streching relaxers and texlaxing. I am very happy with my decision. My hair is definately thicker and healthier.
Thanks sis for your support:)
