1. Be very careful with Minoxidil - (***side affects, unwanted hair growth (moustache, neck, etc.), skin damage, permanent use required or hair falls out). Some users experience extremely bad shedding during and after discontinuing use.
2. Some form of cleansing, in case there is something in your daily living (allergies, food, etc.) which may aggrevate the condition
3. Adequate consumption of supplements to boost immune system
4. Pumpkin seed oil/caplets @Beamodel - recommendation - excellent for this type of hair loss
5. Saw palmetto to vitamin regimen @Beamodel recommendation
6. Retin A
7. Copper Peptide (known to fight hair loss)
8. Emu Oil (promotes healing and hair growth)
9. Massage 4, 7 & 8 multiple times daily into scalp
9. Research other sites which focus on this condition
10. Research PRP - (also requires maintenance - but no known side affects)
11. Research A Cell Therapy
12. Check zinc levels
13. Check vitamin d levels
@IDareT'sHair is right - doctors (dermatologists) do not know everything and after their diagnosis of the hair loss cause - they have exhausted their usefulness. After the diagnosis you should strongly consider finding a Hair Loss Expert (who in all cases should be a dermatologist/medical doctor and most likely cosmetic surgeon).
Hair loss treatment requires a synergistic approach. Meaning, several things/treatments must be done together to be effective. Therefore, until you decide upon a more advanced treatment - you should be doing everything consistently to keep the follicles alive. Hair may continue to fall - but it is imperative that you attempt to keep the follicles alive as much as possible.
@daviine and @Divine. - it is extremely important that you do not wait too long before seeking proper treatment for AGA. Some of the more advanced treatments (#10 and #11) are only effective if the areas are treated while the follicles are still active. The only treatment for FPB or MPB after follicles are inactive, is hair transplantation which necessitates a sufficient donor area. Even so, if AGA progresses, there is a possible need for multiple hair transplantations. So, please accelerate your research and treatment.
