I thought it was like tailbone, but didn't someone say it's like ankle length?

Question: How do you feel about fairy-tale ends?

How many inches....hmmm. You know, I'm not really sure. 4 or 5 maybe? As far as the amazing progress...not really. Remember, I transitioned for 14 months before the big chop. So, it will really be that I grew to hip in 4 years.

Ohhh....hair sticks!!!! What do they look like!? I wanna see!

I got over being a product junkie. Now I'm a hair toy junkie!

Ankle length?! My goodness! I think I'm gonna go with you and say that it's tailbone.

Do you mean how do I feel about actual endings to fairy tales or the ends of people that have "fairy tale" like hair? Sorry girl, but I only got a little sleep last night and my brain isn't functioning properly. Please help me out!

I had completely forgotten that you transistioned for a while. I'm gonna blame that on the lack of sleep too!

I have totally fallen in love with hair accessories! I can't wait to start a collection of them and try all the pretty styles.

Sending you a PM tomorrow!

I think there's both
fairy tale hair that I think is like classic and beyond not sure.
then there's fairy tale ends which are jsut letting your ends do what they want and grow how they want even if they're uneven, v-shaped, whatever, no shaping cuts.

My ultimate fantasy goal is tailbone length stretch, which is probably about APL or BSL unstretched. It is going to be a while though because my hair grows insanely slow.

To the ladies who are using butters, how exactly do you apply it? I have a sample of Elasta QP Mango Butter, but I don't have the slightest idea of how to make it work for my hair. I'm scared it'll leave a clumpy white residue.

I take a little and rub it between my hands, then smooth over my hair. I do this while my hair is still wet or damp, after applying a little leave in conditioner. I've never used the Elasta Mango Butter though. The butters I use don't leave any residue.

So you use the butter to seal more so than moisturize? Maybe that's what I'm doing wrong.

I use it to seal and sometimes I add some to my deep conditioner. Sometimes I use it with any leave in at all, but I make sure my hair is wet when I apply it.

lol!

I meant the ends of hair...like the fairy tale ends which are never trimmed.

Fairy tale endings we all like...except in trite movie plots, I suppose. ;)

1) My ultimate goal is arm pit (APL) unstretched, which I think would be waist length (WSL) stretched.

I've always wanted APL or BSL (bra-strap) length hair, thick healthy hair, but since I abhor the use of heat, my hair will need to be at least WSL to look like APL/BSL unstretched.

2) The longest my hair has been was APL stretched.

3) PROTECTIVE STYLING and BUNNING is the name of my game.

I want to join this thread (I am gonna be 100% real okay) I don't think it is feasible for *me*.

I just don't.

I think WSL is longest I can get. BUT I will def. look back to this thread if I make MBL. I am just taking it one length at a time. Looking for BSL now and when I cross those waters we shall see.

Awe LocksOfLuV, you could definitely get there...at LEAST to waist length. Your hair actually reminds me of Babygurls hair...and look at her beautiful hair now.

I kind of felt the way you do...but my reason was because I loose so much hair (trimming because of knots) so, because I have my own personal challenge...as well as joining/kind of this one, I have decided that I will no longer wear my hair just loose and out. I think the wash and gos are what give my hair time to get tangled and knot, which is what stunts my growth.

ETA: Where are some more of my 4a/b girls? I know ya'll got some beautiful heads too...ahemmmm, Babygurl, Sistaslick, Kinicakes,...ahemmm and WHERE IS AJAMERICAN Diva? I know she's got to be at waistlenght now!

Babygurl? Wow, that's big. But thank you! I actually suffered a setback which changed my outlook on my personal hair journey. It didn't change for the better either, but maybe I am just still stuck in that frame of mind. It'll take some time until I rebuild my confidence.

I put so much of my time and effort into my hair that when the setback happened I felt hurt and cheated on (like it was a relationship lol:lol: ). So now I am just focusing on one thing at a time. THis year it is the top of BSL and next year, who knows, maybe MBL. I'm just trying to take it one thing at a time and not get so ahead of myself (in a way I am scared of letting myself down too).

There was an old thread that was for members growing their hair to longer lengths. I thought I'd start a new one, since some time has passed since the old thread was started. I've read several people here state that they are not interesting in growing their hair longer than BSL or MBL, so I was kind of wanting to hear from those who ARE.

Who is going for hip, tailbone or classic?

My goal is to get to hip length by my birthday in May '08, but I'll be quite happy to get there by next summer.

Who is with me? And what are you doing to get there? Please share. :)

I'll join in!

My goal length is midback unstreched, so I guess that would be hip or tailbone maybe?

My hair has been braided up for the last year and I am giving it a little break right now. I will probably braid it back up in October. For now I am just playing in my hair, trying different styles. I know thats probably not good but I am being VERY limited on the amount of heat I use. I figure whats the point of long hair if you cant have a little fun with it! I know, I am so undisciplined :p

I'd like to join, although I probably won't reach my goal of hip/tailbone length stretched until July/August 2009:eek:

I've started up with the co washing since the weather is warm out & I think my hair likes...Will continue DCing each week & protective styles - buns, french braids, etc

HHG to all!

i'd like to be waist length stretched...but I've got some time till then...(just recently BC'ed)

guesstimating December 2012 :/

i just plan on keeping it simple, protective styling, and healthy eating!:)

Going the Distance
I'm crossing my fingers and aiming for tailbone length.

I just plan on keeping my hair well conditioned and moisturized. I also plan on keeping the manipulation down to a bare minimum and dusting my ends regularly to avoid any major trims.

I guess those are the ends of those women that you see who have never cut their hair in their whole lives? Or perhaps maybe they did once about 20 years ago. I have to be honest, from what I've seen, I'm not much of a fan of that. It's a little hard to describe because their ends never really look damaged, they just look...I don't know. But I guess it can be ok as long as the ends are in good shape.

It's the middle of the night, please ignore me because I really have no idea what I'm talking about here!:ohwell:

Another beyond WL hopeful checking in.

My goal is TBL stretched. That will probably be WL unstretched.

Right now I'm CO washing, DC'ing at least weekly, using very little heat (2x's this year so far), protective styling, low manipulation, watching moisture/protein balance.

ETA: ...also baggying.
