I know this post is old but I'm getting a lot of stuff to take home with me before I leave the USA. I forgot I even made this post, but I found it when looking though my old posts because I don't want to clog the board with new questions and I know there are some things I already asked.
Can you wear a scarf, then put the bonnet on?

These look like regular stocking caps lol. Are you sure they don't press on your scalp? Before I found this group, so back in like 2006-2007 I would sleep with a stocking cap on sometimes and it did damage my edges that's why I ask.I just get theme from any black bss.
oh look I see they're also called dome caps and there's lady versions! I usually pick up the men's ones.
I get them from target, walmart, the beauty supply store. I wear them under my wig, or my hat.
Oh I give my bonnet some slack. I tighten it just enough that it doesn't come off when I'm sleeping, I can easily fit a couple fingers between me and the bonnet. I also I don't wear it where it sits on my edges. The drawstring itself sits maybe an inch in front of my edges.
The old school stocking caps were that gapped nylon just like panty hose and heck yeah they ripped your edges and broke hair. these seem to be fine. the fabric feels satiny. my edges are still here. bonnets and scarves rip my edges clean off.
I do have some excellent satin pillow cases from a woman on easy. Every other "satin" I have tried has had pilling within a few washes. I have washed and dried her satin countless times ( I have satin baby sheets so those need washing frequently) and they are still perfect. I just like the caps to protect my skin from the oils. I wrote one of the ladies in that make the hats in the links provided above by the members who initially answered this and one lady said:
Lately I have been using a silk scarf similar to this and then putting the bonnet over. I'm just lazy and want a one step thing lolI put these silk wraps over my edges before putting on a scarf or bonnet. Keeps the edges laid and protects them. Sometimes if I am using flexi rods, I'll fold them in half so they don't take up so much space, but they are a good size.

I recently started wearing Pretty Anntoinete's silk beanie and it works great also.
