I'm natural but about to go relax again. I don't do much with my natural hair because its not where I want it to be and then also I'm so tired of wearing, weaves, braids, and wigs.
I'm about to put my hair back in the hands of the salon and stylist because I basically don't even do anything to my hair, but wash and condition it and slap on a wig. Well I do actually do something to it look at how its not growing and how dry it is.

Random question, is it normal for someone's hair to literally eat the perm? When I did relax as a child, and once in my early twenties, my hair would be back to its normal texture within a few weeks. Is this normal? Im guessing no.

Natural for the fourth time, this round of natural 8months so far. I don't intend to relax again.... I have declared this thrice before, so time will tell

Transitioning - It's complicated though.

My crown area - relaxer free since April 2016
My perimeter hair - relaxer free since April 2015

Been relaxed since I was 12 so I had no idea what to expect. I was doing 6 month stretches and transitioning wasn't the plan, but once I saw those curls coming through on the perimeter I just went for the plunge so we'll see how this crown goes. :afro:

No its not normal. My hair was similar especially the back. I think it's because the porosity of my hair is so low the perm just didn't take well. It looked great for two or 3 weeks but then it would start to act like I didn't have a relaxer.

Okay, you have a few options:
•Cut it off
•Color it
•Straighten it
•Loc it
•Hide it (wigs, weaves, etc.,)
•Relax it
Whatever your decision, don't let it make you neglect your hair. Or you'll be like me and have to cut off 1-2 inches.
I'm in the in between stage. not long and not a twa anymore. I'm trying to stick it out. plus I have fine hair and these knots are getting on my nerves.

*I already henna. I'm trying to decide if I want to cont to dye it like I use to.
*relax or texlax or texturized is the only other option I'm considering

Sorry you're having issues. The in between stage sucks. Just keep in mind that even if you relax/texlax it it will still be that awkward length. The in between stage doesn't last forever.

Natural since 2009, texlaxing tomorrow. Will probably go natural again in the future. But right now my lifestyle does not support my natural hair lifestyle and I keep getting an inflamed scalp because I'm not washing often enough. I hope I will be freer from tangles after the texlax and can wash more often. Hopefully that will stop the inflamed scalp and the constant dryness and breakage!
