It's hard say which I prefer. When it's cold and I don't feel like jumping in and out of the shower the sink wins. But the water from the shower makes everything easier and I love to keep my hair hanging down instead of up towards the crown like the sink.

So I guess I prefer the shower. I just wish there was an easier way

I agree! I like to take quick showers but when I have to wash my hair I feel like I'm camping out in there lol

Well.. I did prefer to wash my hair in the sink. but I decided to transition (I am 12 weeks now) and my hair doesn't like to be washed in the sink. It gets tangled so badly. I actually washed my hair in the shower for the first time today and I had less tangles.

That's exactly why I stopped washing my hair in the sink. I already struggle with tangles and don't need to make no'mo.

See. Now I KNOW I have special hair. Shower water does not bust through these tangles.

I detangle at the sink with ST's Hair Glide and Knot Dressing. This usually takes anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on how tangled my hair is.

Detangling requires pulling apart webbed and tangled super coily hair. At first I was doing this in the shower -- ya know, to benefit from the pressure/gravity of water -- and then I realized: I only need shower water to remove shed hairs AFTER I've de-webbed and de-knotted. Shower water just ain't busting through my webs and knots.

So now instead of spending hours in the shower, I detangle at the sink and then lean over the tub and let the shower water further remove shed hairs. Then I apply my conditioner and hop in the shower to get clean and let the shower steam steam my conditioner into my hair while I clean.

I use the shower most of the time. The only time I use the sink is when I use henna and indigo on my hair. It's just less messy in the sink to do those. All other times I shower and prefer it because I get wayyyy less tangles and it's so much easier to detangle my hair in the shower with water running through it.

I really dislike jumping in and out of the shower but I dislike severe tangles from washing my hair in the sink even more - so the shower it is!

I do both but I try my best to use the sink more often to not waste water, I have a nice deep sink so that helps alot. I never encounter tangles either way because my hair is always washed in 10 twisted sections. I think the idea of jumping in and out of the shower just for my hair is silly and inefficient, plus once I step out of the shower I moisturize my skin with a whipped butter and I'm not tryna rinse that off my body just to rinse out a DC lol.

I always detangle out of the shower, all I need are sections and a slippery conditioner, I turn on the water only when I need it for a final rinse. There are so many steps and so much time I dont need the water running or my whole body to be wet, that the sink is the logical way to go for me.

Depends on which step in on and if i needed to shower anyways. sometimes i shower in the morning then chill, then decide to wash my hair. Im not hopping back in there so i wash in the sink. But if i didnt shower yet that day than i kill two birds with one stone. If i do wash my hair in the shower i usualky shampoo, do my aphogee two minute than apply my deep conditioner and get out with the dc in my hair. Then rinse the dc out in the sink.

I've washed my fash in the kitchen sink because my OCD kicked in and I didn't want to get water spots on the mirror after the club.

I have never watched my hair in the sink. I don't think I could do it without making a mess. Now I'm inspired to try. Thanks OP!

Shower because I never get it rinsed well enough in the sink. I usually rinse my DC out in the sink but I will in the shower if I feel ok with hopping in and out. So I chose other

Depends on the time of year.
Fall/Winter: I start in the sink and end in the shower, detangling and washing out my DC.
Spring/Summer: Shower since I cowash daily. And if I need to do a protein treatment then I do my fall/winter regimen.
