Head and shoulders dry scalp shampoo

I only bought it cuz i saw it had sweet almond oil in it. I didnt like the classic version of head and shoulders, but this dry scalp one does a lot better. I have to let it sit on my scalp for a lil bit. I mainly get flakes from product buildup

Oui.dad double detangling comb. This looked very scary but I kept hearing good things so I took the plunge. It did an awesome job detangling my hair. I did take some getting used to, but once i got the hang of it, it was a breeze.

Wow. I was able to get it to work fabulously on my wigs, but on my own hair? Nope. I felt like I didn't have enough length for it. Maybe I need to revisit it.

How long is your hair? Is your hair dense (thick overall) or not dense (thin overall)? TIA?

MONSTER HIT

The Mane Choice Orchid styling Gel.

Leaves your hair soft with hold! Love this!

Since I am hi po, I used Glossy by Uncle Funky's Daughter which has cones on Wet twist out after Plopping for an hour. My twists unravel so much easier now.

So impressed with the Mane Choice.

It looks so heavy and bulky! I really want to try one though. Do you have a Hercules Sageman rake? If so, can you compare them?
@AgeinATL
I do own that one as well.
I normally use the rake first then follow up with the magic star to get my hair thoroughly detangled.
Last wash day I used only the oui.dad comb and that did the job of the other two in one step. I think the weight of the comb helped weigh my curls down so that probably helped release any tangles.

@YvetteWithJoy
My hair is normal density and BSL stretched.

Hit: APB hair and body butta. Fluffy whipped goodness. I have fine hair so I really don't use butters a lot but I need to hoard this for fall/winter. Left my hair soft without feeling oily and weighed down. Sealed in the moisture nicely. Will order a few jars now to have ready for fall. This might just replace my beloved CRN almond jai twisting butter.

Hit: DIY Detangling Prepoo.

I have a pound each of marshmallow root and slippery elm to use up, so I decided to make up a prepoo with them. I made a tea with the herbs, added xanthan and guar gum to thicken, then blended in avocado oil (another thing I'm using up). The mix has the slippery, sliminess that detangles without the drippiness of the tea alone. Super Hit.

For me, they don't compare. The Magic Star Rake is a wide tooth comb with one row. The Double Row Detangler is a heavy duty detangling comb with two rows. I use the wide tooth comb first and then follow with the double row detangler to properly remove shed hair. The wide tooth comb doesn't truly remove all my sheds. The double row detangler hits problem areas that the wide tooth comb misses or passes over.

Continued Hits (in no particular order):
Komaza Scalp Butter
Darcy's Botanicals Eucalyptus & Mint Scalp Butter
Soultanicals Knot Glide
Lawrence Ray Concept's "Shake & Go"
Hairveda's Whipped Hydration

Is the knot glide better than the knot sauce or the mango dip? (If you have tried them)

Thank you for the comparison!

Hits:
Olaplex. Definitely put texture back into my relaxed strands, especially the overprocessed parts.

Flaxseed oil for my scalp. Works very well! And doesn't make my hair limp at all.

Misses:
Olaplex. It did leave my hair kinda dry, but I'm willing to work around it with more mositure.

Flaxseed oil for my scalp. It does get a rancid smell on my scalp after a few days. :nono: especially at the crown. I thought grapeseed oil would be a good substitute, but it leaves my hair too limp.

Very tentative miss:
Chagrin Valley Shampooo Bars

I bought quite a few different samples, and all of them were drying to my hair except the Carrot Milk & Honey shampoo bar. And . . . I have yet to try the samples I bought that contain beer, so they might be good, I don't know. Not excited to try them, based on the effect of the other ones.

I'll give the bars some more trialing because I've been told that it takes a while for hair to adjust to all-natural poo bars. Super dry, coated-feeling hair did not feel good, though.
