I've been using Keracare for about 20 years. The 1st lather is a CLARIFYING shampoo. It is meant to strip the hair of all buildup. You used it without understanding that.

The hydrating poo is the most moisturizing shampoo on the market. I have tried so many other shampoos and I ALWAYS come back to Keracare hydrating poo. I have even used it after trying conditioners that weren't as moisturizing as I had hoped.

If you only used the 1st lather and nothing else, you got EXACTLY what you should have: clarified hair.

This is worded interestingly  Hope it helps others reading this because I've already returned everything. I didn't like any of it.

I'm gonna try the relaxer method with the bambu Silicon mix today. I might not use as much, since I got the small jar. I will get a bigger jar next week. I need this to last 2-3 washes. You know I wash and dc my hair 2-3 days. Sometimes I push it to 5.

It all left my hair feeling waxy! I need to just stop  I have stuff I know works well, I just wanted to expand my staple D.C. collection. For some reason I decided I was too dependent on one product.
What is your staple? I can understand the waxy. That's what gives me the slip I need. It reminds me of CON shampoos. It will create build up due to it being a detangling shampoo.

I didn't understand the waxy comment until you mentioned the slip feel. I like that feeling lol. I also clarify regularly so I guess that is why I never noticed a shampoo creating buildup. Never thought of that before. Interesting.

I can't find ORS replenishing pak anywhere at all in England. I used to buy it BOGO at Boots. I can't even find it on the regular ORS website. It was my go-to conditioner since 2013 at least, although I used it when I still lived in the US a little.

Now I'm in here trying to find a new conditioner!

I switched over to Motions shampoo and conditioners and they worked fine.

Now, I'm not so sure. I'll research this thread for other options and thinking of just going back to Nexxus - even though they reformulated it. Decisions, decisions.....

I love my masques and I use several. My favorite deep conditioner is Design Essentials lavender. Smells wonderful, great slip, very moisturizing!

Hmmm, I posted this one month before I had my major setback and lost most of my hair. I was under extreme stress and I switched to cheapy Motions products. :nono:

I'm back on the Nexxus train for good. My hair thrives with Nexxus and I'm a couponer, so I know how to stock up when there's a good sale.

I relaxed last night and used Nexxus Humectress Moisture Masque for the deep conditioning. It was a free packet attached to my regular conditioner. My hair loves it! I'll have to keep this masque in my stash to use in my conditioning rotation. :yep:

Moisture: Ichikami revitalizing treatment

Protein: Elizavecca Cer100 protein Ion Injection

Both of these products contain a fair amount of cones, but my hair likes cones a lot so I’m in position to object if my hair is flourishing while using them.

I’ve laid off mixing my deep conditioners because I can’t ever seem to get them as moisturizing as I like.

I do make a Shea Butter deep conditioner as well. It’s a lengthy process when mixing, and it takes a while to melt it down for application, but it does wonders for my new growth.

Recipe please and thank you! :)

Sure thing,

There aren’t too many things to add, but my main goal is just trying to get the Shea Butter thinned out and a bit more fluffy.

I’ll usually mix the Shea Butter with either Almond oil or Jojoba oil. I’m not too fond of the blends because they’re a bit on the heavy side.

I’ll take usually 4-8 ounces of Shea Butter, and whip it with 1-2 ounces of Almond or Jojoba oil. Just to get it fluffy, but you can always add more.

Sometimes I’ll put a few drops of essential oils in the mix. Rosemary, peppermint, Sage, Citronella, etc.

After that I just warm it up using the double boiler method, after cooling, it should be fluffed enough to melt when you rub it in your palms, and I just apply it from root to tips, cover with a plastic cap, use my heat cap for 15-30 mins, and co-wash my roots and the water rinse the excess of and air dry.

That’s really it. The melting part takes the longest, but before I melt it I just manually whip the oils into the Shea butter which takes a while too.

If I want a protein boost, I’ll mix in some ORS replenishing Pak. 1-2 ounces. I don’t mix it until after the Shea mixture has cooled from initially melting it down with the oils, then I’ll whip it together one last time. It mixes a lot smoother by this time since it’s been thinned down.
