To the naturals is your hair longer now than when you were relaxed

My length is about the same, I reached WL as a relaxed head in 2004. I stopped relaxing because 1) I only touched up 2x a year anyway 2) The older I got the thinner my hair became and I missed the thickness and density of my hair.

My hair was healthy as a relaxed head although I know a lot more today about healthy hair in general as a natural. I didn't damage my hair until I became a lazy straight-haired natural using too much heat.

12 years ago I BC'd thinking that I would keep my hair au natural until I could find a competent hairdresser in S. FL. I experienced phenomenal growth that I was finally able to retain. As a relaxed head my hair length was somewhere between SL and APL.

As a natural I'm wondering if this is the year that I'll reach TBL ....I'm currently HL. This is an amazing feat considering I'm always battling my archnemesis fine hair strands. Fine hair strands super power is the ability to tangle at the drop of a hat and be more fragile than their thick strand cohorts. The gain in length is what makes me afraid to ever relax my hair.

Yes and no. My natural hair has reached my longest length texlaxed/relaxed (MBL) but is healthier, so I expect to surpass that length soon.

My relaxed hair grew beautifully to BSL, but was thin and damaged when I hit MBL. I don't know what I was doing wrong back then but I'm sure that had I given it more time, I would have figured it out and grew my my relaxed hair longer. Unfortunately, since I prefer textured hair and hate touch ups, I decided to transition rather than stick it out with relaxers.

Overall, I find my natural hair to be easier to care for and maintain, so retention is much easier compared to my relaxed hair.

Natural. After being everything under the sun...Relaxed, texlaxed, curly perm, and natural, I've decided natural is best for me. I just have to be very patient.

There is no board.
I had tbl relaxed hair and have made it to a year transitioning. I'm trying to go longer but I'm ready to cut this off. Watching lots of videos for tips.

I'm transitioning for the last time. I've even natural on and off for years but I've BC every time and I think I couldn't get through the awkward stage. So for this last time I'm going to do a long transition

Happy to be nappy since 2007. I celebrated my 10yr nappiversary on April 1st!
I've never had the desire to relax again. Although I did get the urge for a twa about 3 yrs ago...i enjoyed short hair thoroughly and will probably go back to that at some point.

Long hair requires time and attention that I don't see myself having for at least another yr. My hair has been longer & healthier as a natural than it ever was as a permie.

Relaxed. I go back and forth thinking of whether to transition or not. On one hand, it would be cheaper. On the other hand, my hair knots, tangles and mats within seconds.

I am thinking of transitioning one side of my head only to experiment with both natural and texlaxed at the same time. Funny but serious lol

I used crochet braids to transition beginning in 2014 and finally cut the last of my relaxed hair off in Dec 2016. My daughter transitioned with me. I love my puff and braid outs. I don't think I'll go back to relaxing. I love th thickness and coils of my natural hair.

Currently transitioning since July 2016. I'm ready to be done with this relaxed part of my hair . All of these knots and tangles are a hot mess .
