No not yet @nymane. I am just using the K-Pak line tomorrow for the first time. I mean the one that comes as a set. I'll report back on how my hair likes those.

I might give the Revitaluxe a try in another week or two.

Hit: The Mane Choice Crystal Orchid Biotin Infused Styling Gel

Ingredients: Aqua (Purified Water), Polysorbate-20, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate), Biotin, Silk Amino Acids, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D), Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Equisetum Arvense (Horsetail) Extract, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract, Betula Alba (Birch) Extract, Malva Sylvestris (Mallow) Extract, Tussilago Farfara (Coltsfoot) Flower Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Extract, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), Ulmus Fulva (Slippery Elm) Bark Extract, Marshmallow (Althaea Officinalis) Root (Organic), Aminomethyl Propanol (Water Soluble), Fragrance (Essential Oil Blend), Violet 2.

The smell: Antiseptic lavender, moderate strength, may offend delicate noses

The look: A vivid pale blue, never seen a product this color before

Consistency: Thick, runny, yet sticks to fingers, like cake batter, new texture for a gel

Application:
Heavy, achieving that squishy sound and white hair while raking through. It feels like I am putting on a leave-in, instead of gel. If the hair is not well detangled, this stuff will lock knots in the strands. Works best on damp-to-wet hair; soaking wet hair will water-down the product, rendering it ineffective. Small sections from root-to-tip - the tighter the curls, the smaller the sections for the best definition. I had to do some shingling/twirling on the pensprings; the hold on them is still intact, no frizz.

Since I don't use conditioner, product clashing is not an issue. I think this gel works best without products or maybe some oil underneath. No flaking. Weak gel cast with some hold (if it were an EcoStyler product, it would be a 5). The weak gel cast can make hair look and feel dry, although it is not. I don't bother with scrunching it out; the gel does not make my hair hard or stiff. If the vendor was trying to create a gel without that scratchy gel cast annoyance, she has succeeded.

It does not elongate curls, but it does not shrink them up much either. My hair is still its usual coiliness, no frizz two days later. Some of the gel cast has worn off on its own and my hair is soft.

I never thought I would ever like a gel. It is a miracle I like this one because I do not have to use styling products and nothing has impressed me to use it again. The normal price is a bit steep ($11.99), but at least it come in a wide-mouth, 16 oz jar. The only thing I would like to see different is screw-top jar lid with a pump, so I can choose whether or not I want to dip my fingers into the product.

I am soooooooooo excited for you, lady! You searched diligently! It paid off! Yay!

Excellent, excellent review, by the way. Thanks!

Hit:
1. Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Extreme mixed with Olaplex no 2 to pre poo/deep condition. Idea from @Daina
2. Philip Kingsley Moisture Extreme Shampoo- has sulfates but was not stripping
3. Philip Kingsley Moisture Extreme Conditioner- made hair soft and hydrated

My hair felt wonderful after using these products together on wash day.

Major hit:
The Ouchless Goody small updo barrettes that Kimmaytube sells on her site. (I got mine on EBay for much less than Amazon has them for). They made wash day significantly easier. I washed sections with them in, DC'd with them in, rinsed the DC with them in, moisturized and sealed by sections with them in. Love them!

Initial impression hit:
CRN Sweet Ginger Cleansing Rinse. Slippery. Nonstripping. Smells great. Left hair a little undefined, strangely.

Continued hit:
CRN Coconut Water Penetrating Hair Treatment. Actually moisturizing for my hair. Hair was back to being defined after this DC.

Do the goody clips hold your hair up? Or are they made just to hold your ends? I'm asking because I want to know if they will hold different sections on wash day. Thanks!

Hey, lady. The Kimmaytube lady uses them to create updos.

I hardly ever put them on my ends (I did once, though, to try to weigh my hair down while drying). I usually clip them around my sections at the roots and leave my ends unclipped. That way I can apply mud-poo or shampoo or conditioner or styler to my hair while clipped into sections (clipped at the roots). I am also able to rinse out poo and conditioner with them in. I love them. Wash day is way better for me with them.

Thanks for responding. I forgot to ask you if you've experienced any snagging while using them.

YW. Zero snagging, because of the way they are designed. They function like barrettes, and each one is a single piece of plastic that allows for snag-free clipping.

@trueheartofgold,

Below is a picture of the Kimmaytube-recommended updo hair clips. I am leaving them large so that you can see them. I resized one, so it's a little blurry. Hopefully this gives you a clear picture of exactly what they look like.

Supergirl

With Love & Silk
HUGE Miss: Shea Moisture/Nubian Heritage brands

The owner said his piece: he is expanding his market base at the expense of black women. We are excluded from ad campaigns and executive roles in Shea Moisture's management but SM is more than happy to accept our coins.

I have used Shea Moisture hair products once, and that was all it took to not buy them again. It never agreed with my hair, but I was open to their skin products. After hearing the owner's response, his lack of an apology to my sister base, and his audacity to say he helped paved the way for other black-owned hair businesses, I ain't never spending a dime on Shea Moisture again. Deuces, and best wishes with SM's new base of red and blonde-head white women.

Continued Hits: Black women-owned natural hair businesses that were here without the help of Shea Moisture and never forgot their base (Jakeala, Anita Grant, Annabelle Perfect Blends or @Miss Kane , Natty Naturals, Shescentit, Darcy's Botanicals, Karen Body Beautiful, Bee Mine, Camille Rose, Hairveda, Qhemet Biologics, TGIN, J. Moniques, Silk Dreams or @Supergirl, Naturelle Grow) and every other black-owned brand that doesn't throw us black women under the bus after their come up.

Yes, ladies, I am pissed, but I will speak with my pocket.

Thanks for the shout out! :notworthy:

@gemruby41, so glad the combo worked for you as well! No other combo or conditioner gives my curls that spark of life and bounce as this combo does. It's expensive but so worth it. You have me considering the shampoo and conditioner as well.
