May 19 20 21 What Are Your Weekend Hair Plans?

Sharpened

A fleck on His Sword
While my two-week break was nice, it is time to get back into treatment, oil, and water routine.

Friday: One last pic of this style.
Saturday: Combining one oz each of Sweet Coffee and Marshmallow Rooibos Tea into one prewash treatment for an hour, oil rinse and detangling in five sections, twist each section into five, fat twists, release the twists after a couple of hours.
Sunday: Check condition of hair and scalp

On the Grow and Keeping it Simple
Today:
  • Mixed henna this morning and applied in the afternoon.
  • Rinsed out around midnight because I was up and wanted it done.
  • Applied my DC, covered with plastic cap and hair turban, then went to bed.
Saturday:
  • set for braid and curl
  • sit under dryer so I can unbraid before afternoon event.

Don't know why I post in these threads since I end up changing it up half the time. I pretreated my hair with babassu oil, planning to let it sit overnight. The NBA game was a slaughter from the jump, so I finger-detangled my hair tonight two hours later. The babassu and having my hair stretched definitely cut the time in half. I put my five, fat twists into bantu knots (for the second time ever in life).

I have no idea what to do next but sleep.

I washed/conditioned earlier this week with using the Camille Rose line. Put my hair in about 30 two strand twists. My hair hasn't been feeling the best due to circumstances so I'm doing an overnight baggy with Hawaiian 14 n 1....something I haven't done in a while. If this doesn't work, I'm just gonna shave it all off - j/k.

I'm not sure yet. I'll be back!

Thoughts in the meanwhile:
  1. Leave it alone and wear slightly old hair to church tomorrow, maybe? My hair at the time of this post is in a ponytailed flexirod set. I could leave it, but all the stuff below has me itching to do something with it! LOL!
  2. Inspiration!: I'm inspired by Abena from YouTube's EmbraceNaturalBeauty channel to revisit a Kinky Curly wash and go. She's on Day 10+ of it or something crazy like that! :spinning:
  3. Product combination research: Soooooo . . . I feel I need to see if Kinky Curly Curling Custard (gel) will play nicely with Curl Junkie Smoothing Lotion. KCCC is very finicky and typically seems only to like to play with its own leave-in. I do indeed have a little Kinky Curly Knot Today leave-in left, but I don't want to repurchase it I don't think--I mean, not simply for the reason of doing a stretch of KCCC wash-and-go's, ya know?
  4. Denman brush thoughts: I just watched the Naptural85 Denman Brush modification video to modify my Denman brush, which I hardly use but want to try because some of my Wet Brush bristles are acting up. While watching, in the "video feed" popped up a video by OhGinelle (YouTube) about training your hair with a Denman brush. INTERESTING.

Well, my plan to use my treatment, rinse, and chill until tomorrow got in the way of unforeseen circumstances. I had to rinse the stuff out after a few, slap some gel my hair (grabbed the wrong one), used a BBB to slick it back, and stuck a small butterfly clip on it. The one good thing about gel is the taming of the drippies.

I will probably just do rinse, oil, water Sunday, barring any other drama.

Yesterday I washed with CON Argan poo and went to bed with my DC/DT...Some kind of intense moisture treatment from Sallys. This morning I rinsed it out & co-washed with something new: ORS Butter rich co-wash (i'm really digging this line lately). My leave-in was also by ORS and I styled my wash n go with Eco Argan. I will air dry all day and have awesome 2nd day hair tomorrow!
