Straightening Bleached Blonde 3c Hair

My hair is bleached platinum blonde. It's currently between 3C and 4A (leaning closer to 3C). I use Olaplex, Argan oil, and other daily moisturizers to repair and minimize damage. It has been over a month since I bleached or even toned my hair.

I want straighter hair that's more manageable. It's too long and the curls are too loose for a fro. It's too short to do much of anything else than a faux hawk.

Is there ANY way to straighten my hair? I would like to do a relaxer but I know with it being bleach white I may as well just shave it off now.

Flat irons are useless, my hair draws back up after I move to the next strand.

You have to really focus on adding some moisture to your hair. I had blonde, natural hair and was able to get my hair straight. You have to really focus on the shampoo and Deep conditioning. Clean, hydrated hair. You have to work in small sections when it comes to blow drying, then flat ironing. I mean paper thin, angled sections. Make sure you got the air conditioner or, or a fan. Try using a tiny bit of Creme press on the roots and comb through. You also may have to do the comb chase method.
I relaxed on top of bleached hair. It's possible, but you have to know what your hair can handle.

Thank you, I've been moisturizing my hair since I bleached it, but I'll try working in smaller sections.

It sounds as if your hair is coated with something. There's no reason a flat iron shouldn't work. Clarify, deep condition, and then apply only a small amount of leave in.
I didn't put anything in my hair except heat protectant.

Do you have a deep conditioner to recommend?

Did you apply heavily? I used to over-apply and coated hair is a sure way to a bad flat iron job. It will revert and won't have any movement. Make sure to apply sparingly and also to clarify beforehand.
I love and trust my hair to Joico conditioners. I would recommend Joico K Pak Intense Hydrator.
I also love Joico Cuticle Sealer. You might benefit from that if you think overly porous hair is an issue.
Or a lemon juice rinse is a lot cheaper lol.

You need to ensure that the hair has received an amplified level of deep conditioning before even considering straightening. The flat iron is simply going to deplete the hair of moisture so you need to try and put as much moisture into the hair before you straighten it.

Welcome to the forum by the way.

I agree with the others. A flat iron will work just fine on straightening your hair but you need to switch up your products and turn UP the degree of the iron to get it as straight as you would like.

For bleached hair, moisturizing it using argan oil is not going to replenish it long term. Olaplex is NOT a moisturizer. It is a bond re-builder. Bleached hair is chemically processed. Therefore, you need a professional level product that is chemical based and contain high level conditioning to offset the dryness and protein loss. Brands for blonde processed hair such as Matrix Biolage, Joico, Paul Mitchell, etc are perfect for this. You have to step up your product game from over the counter to salon level if you go colored to maintain the same level of integrity and strength your natural hair had. Go hard or go home.

The second thing I will say for straightening your hair is that you need a LIGHT professional product on damp hair. You don't need to use a thousand heat protectants. It only takes one to do the job and do it well. A light serum designed to smooth the hair cuticles such as Paul Mitchell super skinny or Giovanni Blackberry Coconut will do the trick. Using high heat on the blow dryer and at least 430 degrees on the flat iron, you should have no problems getting that hair bone straight.

Now I am pro chemical, pro heat type of girl, but I gotta let you know Heat styling may not be your friend.
I wouldn't heat style anymore. Your hair is highly processed and if you are trying to grow for length, I wouldn't dare put heat to that hair. If you had a short cut (pixie) maybe, but you would still be taking a risk. Try roller setting the hair, or other type of wet setting method.
No matter how much you moisturize level of color stripping/bleaching, heat will just rob their hair further of moisture. You are risking heat damage, if it already hasn't happened.
