Sick Of My Natural Hair

You did a great job! It's very typical to get mixed results with a relaxer and you had a whole head of virgin hair. Looks like you left some texture in there too, it's still very pretty and thick!

I'm kinda nervous for you :nervous2:that you only neutralized once but you said there was no pink. I'm sure all is well. You know your hair best! HHG and don't forget to have fun! :)

The conditioners had quite a low pH from what I remember. I imagine my hair was partially neutralized even before using the shampoo.

SOOOOO tempted to follow in OP's steps but I'm also growing my hair out (the crown of my hair broke off and now it's uneven :ohwell:). Probably will return within the next 6 months or so.
Do you know what's causing your crown breakage? My nape area (kitchen) is badly broken off and damaged. It's so much coarser than any other part of my hair even though it wasn't always like that. I'm not sure what can be done to get it back to the silky texture it once was.

My crown is similar. And I recently had a setback. I just have to pay attention more and work on the section separately from the other sections of my hair. I would try doing something internally like adding silica and fish oil supplements into your diet.
How do you wash and style your hair?
I would lay off the protein in that area to and focus on moisture for awhile.
I don’t usually like glycerin based products, but I have been using Scurl in that area to help moisturize more. It seems to be working fine so far. Castor oil really helps soften that area too and it’s a humectant.

An update:
I did an olaplex treatment (step 1 and 2), I slept with a plastic bag over my head on wednesday.
I did an aphogee 2 step treatment today, followed by a rollerset.
My hair feels great, strong, heavy and soft. I will probably buy the 2L Olaplex step 2 bottle. I am so happy with the state of my hair. Most people don't realize it's relaxed because I mostly wear buns. Some parts are underprocessed at the root, but I can manage it for now. I love my hair.
Deciding to relax has made me more involved in my hair: I spend more time on the hair side of the forums, I moisturize and seal religiously, I use my XCEL21 regularly etc. It was a great move that I don't regret at all.

Congratulations! I like hearing people say they are happy with their hair. I love the look of your natural hair and your relaxed hair. On you, both states are gorgeous!
