What's your hair type? Does that factor into your roller choice or just skill?
I get smoothest sets from curlformers, but my hair holds a curl so nicely, I could use anything and get curls to set on it. For me, it's ease of use and time to install, primarily.
I tried my spoolies on the ends of braids and I do not like them. I couldn't get the tension I needed to roll and they slid right out. I like perm rods much better. Much more secure.

3b/c mix. Skill is everything. I did curlformers once on most of my length (my hair was too long for the ones I had) and my hair was a perfect smooth spiral. The curls didn't last a day for me though. Maybe I should've combed them out. I could see them being a great roller setting tool if I had a set long enough for the length of my hair.

Hi everyone, I thought I would write about my experience with these rollers. Firstly, for those who do not know, "Spoolies" is a brand of hair rollers/curlers. Any company can make their own rollers or curling items. Just like there are many brands of flat irons and curling irons, there can also be many brands of rollers-- My Curls Squad happens to be one of those brands. You can find cheaper versions of these rollers on Ebay and Amazon from many different companies. Protective Princess' aim with her rollers were for them to be more durable-- since she experienced many of the cheaper ones on the market breaking after using them overtime.

To my experience with My Curl Squad Rollers, I absolutely love them. I have had them for a few weeks and they have aided in reducing the knots and tangling that I used to experience at the ends of my hair when I did twists and braids. They are definitely durable and I can see them lasting for years. My only intention is to use them to stretch my ends though, since I mostly protective style.
