Daily Moisturizers W/keratin?

Any recommendations? I'm finding my hair likes protein on a more consistent basis. Wheat, Oat and all those others are moisturizing for my hair and are not strong enough. It needs keratin on a more consistent basis.

I've been using Colorful Neutral Protein Filler under my DC weekly after I shampoo. Also I've been using Redken Anti-Snap as a leave in (has wheat protein I believe), but want to try It's a 10 plus Keratin in its place. However, as far as I know, leave ins are really just for wash days, so I wouldn't want to use the leave in during the week to re-moisturize.

I want to know if there are any moisturizers with keratin in them that I can use to moisturize every three to four days in between washes.

TIA!

Thanks for starting this thread. I have been looking for leave ins/ moisturizers that contain keratin as well.
In the past I have used Shea Moisture JBCO, but I don’t like the way it makes my hair feel anymore. Currently, I use Xcel21 spray underneath SCurl. It has been working well, but I am open to other options if there are better out there.

I was using Xcel21 for a hot minute when that thread first started. Is it considered a daily moisturizer? If so, I might go back to it. I was thinking more along the lines of a lotion or cream with keratin. We have a ton of things that are protein free because a lot of us are protein sensitive, but now me. No ma'am. My fine hair becomes overly soft and the ends tend to shed and break when I just twist it if it doesn't have it's dose of protein.

ETA: I remember using Aphogee Keratin & Green Tea Reconstructurizer on a consistent basis in the beginning of my hair journey and I remember my hair feeling strong feeling, but soft. At the time, I thought that strong feeling was bad, so I stopped using it. Now I know that my hair needs to be in that condition again. But then again, this product is not a moisturizer at all...

I know that xcel has a cream version. Both the spray and cream can be used on the length of the hair. The spray claims to be a detangler that stops split ends and breakage, so it’s not just for growth. I wouldn’t call it a moisturizer though, which is why I top it with SCurl. I have never tried the cream, but I have seen people post about using it on their ends/length before sealing— I think I saw this in the 2017 Luscious Ends thread.

Actually I had the cream before too. It doubles as a DC, although I didn't like how it performed as a DC...I might need to revisit that. I have to remember if it left any residue in my hair. I hate residue. I also have the curling styler stuff of Xcel as well. I'm a recovering pj...so yeah.

I will be following this thread.
I wonder if APB can add some Hydrolized Keratin to the Hair Creams? I would be in heaven if she could.

As you know, I am no where near protein sensitive. Lack of regular protein I believe over the years has hindered my hair's potential.

Same here. I was too focused on moisture. When I was using Komaza Protein Strengthener on a consistent basis, my hair was better for it. I was only using it every two weeks. I think it should have been weekly. That was like a mild protein for me. I could use it without any moisturizing DC to followup. The Colorful is easier to get my hands on though so I've been using that. I've never tried the Aphogee 2 Step.

Aphogee (step 1) was what I would use quarterly and it would get the job done. The smell however, was not enough for me to use it more frequently :lachen:.

Agreed, my hair thrives on protein but I haven't used it consistently for the last couple of years, only sporadically. Big mistake, my hair has improved since I've been giving it a regular dose even just with using leave ins.

Maybe try:
Hydratherma Naturals Protein Balance Leave-In treatment

If you can find it, Joico K-Pak Liquid Reconstructor (I wouldn't use it daily though). If you go this route, spray on hair then use a creamy product on top.
I bought this to use (used it this past wash day) again after stopping use of it in the past (thought I would get protein overload). I will be keeping this in constant rotation because my hair liked it before. It will be my go to leave in.

CHI also has a Keratin Leave In I used to use for roller sets.

What I am going to do is since I cleanse three days a week, I am going to apply a protein based liquid leave in before I apply my hair creams. I usually cleanse then apply a moisturizing hair cream to twist. I twist only because I do not like going to bed with a wet head.

I have an APB Refresher Spray, I might throw in some Colorful Neutral Protein filler to it since I spray a liquid leave in before my creams.

If I wanted to grow my hair out I would make this a challenge. I might still do it for overall hair health.

Signing in here. My hair loves protein. I don't know about a leave in. I use jplex weekly. Similar to olaplex no.2

I got the shea moisture jbco but my hair feels weird trying to finish it up and try a mielles leave in

I'm gonna continue with the Redken Anti Snap leave in. Might try the Chi Keratin Mist or the Chi Keratin Leave in as well. I will just layer these underneath a regular cream moisturizer with some Shea Butter mix to seal. I also ordered the Schwarzkopf Bonacure Repair Rescue Sealed Ends from Amazon (hopefully it's not a dupe) which has keratin in it and it's like a serum oily thing I read.

Did you know that the ingredients for this have completely changed? I went into the store today to pick it up and there was absolutely no keratin anywhere to be found, matter a fact there was no Hydrolyzed protein present.

Here are the new ingredients I found on naturally curly (same as the one in the store): Aqua (Purified Water), Arctium Lappa (Burdock Root), Urtica Diotica (Nettle Leaf), Cetyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Quaternium-80, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Glyceryl Stearate, Silk Protein, D,L-Panthenol, Simmondsia Chinesis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Stearyl Alcohol, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Polysorbate-80, Citric Acid, Essential Oils.

Old ingredients: Water, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Hydrolyzed Silk, Green Tea (Camellia Sinensis)Extract, Glycine Alanine, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Cetrimonium Chloride,PVP, Citric Acid, Fragrance, FD&C Red #40, D&C Green #5, FD&C Yellow#6.

Giving Aphogee the side eye right about now.

In my new-growth
Mielle Organics has a peony leave-in and I believe there is keratin in it. It’s a thin cream but in a spritz bottle. My hair loves it. I find it at Sally’s.

After seeing your post, I checked the bottle that I have and these are the ingredients (FWIW, this would be the product's second formula change):

What in the world..... I don’t even know what to say. I’m hoping that the one you listed is the latest, because the one I saw in store makes no sense.
