Hair Confessions 2018

Better Late Than Ugly
I don’t really have many.

Sometime last year, during a 6 month period, I Deep Conditioned my hair 3x: the first time, three months later and then three months later. My hair was fine.

When I exercise, I don’t wash or cowash. I know it sounds disgusting, but because my scalp is sensitive; cleansing conditioner, cowash and shampoos bother my scalp to me scratching to sores.

Silicones are not a dealbreaker. Sulfates are not a dealbreaker. Grease is not a dealbreaker. Frangrance that puts the Macy’s perfume section to shame is a huge dealbreaker.

I hate Rhassoul clay. I tried. I hate it. I got over it.

I don’t like silicon mix. I tried it. It gave me breakage. I got over it.

I’m another stan of washing with hot water. I rinse with warm that leans towards hot water. Hair still takes 2 days to dry.

Even with all the years I was relaxed and making it to WL texlaxed, as a natural, I hate my hair straight. I decided if I ever straightened my hair again, it would be to assess my hair, health-wise, and like a true vieja, complain I miss my curls millennial style. It’s the only way I know.

Congrats on Staying in that Huge Stash you got over there and curbing your BF/CM Orders.:congrats:

I'd like to get BF/CM down to maybe 5 (instead of 15). Something to work towards in 2018.

Thanks! I still cruise the What's on Sale thread and make carts, but I refuse to follow through. What's helped tremendously towards curbing my purchasing is taking a stroll through my stash before hitting "pay now". By the time I've finished traversing all of the rooms (yes, rooms) and the entire fridge full of products, I turn around, cuss myself out, sit my behind down, click out of all the websites and find another activity. I simply cannot justify another purchase without needing a comprehensive intervention.

I've secretively been trying to grow out Henna. .... :shhh:

IK, IK folks say you gotta cut it out, but I am tryna' grow it out. Hopefully, by using BAQ Henna all these years, I will be able to successfully grow it out.:help:

I'd like to fully return to Semi-Permanent Color and leave the Henna/Indigo alone. #overit:yawn:

*We'll see what happens*

I want to relax...we moved to a dry climate and my hair is almost impossible to keep moisturized in its natural state. I want to relax it and wear it in a french braid.

I feel like i'd regret so I haven't jumped...but don't push me, I'm close to the edge.

I always sleep with my hair in a bun. Not about restyling in the morning.

If someone gave me a way to keep my hair permanently stretched in humidity without a line of demarcation I would pay any dollar amount for it.

I also confess to going outside with wet hair all the time

I love my hair!!!!!!!Apparently more than i love my boyfriend cos my hair comes first.....when he calls or wants to come over while i'm doing my hair i literally want to slap him off the phone or slam the door on him! I always have to take deep breaths and calm myself......I'll be like - "Didn't i tell you i was doing my hair?" with a big frown on my face:spinning:......

My number one cleanser of all time is a clarifying/chelating sulfate laden shampoo that I use for 99% of my wash days...and I'm not cutting Bae loose :infatuated: unless they reformulate
What shampoo is that? I am on the hunt for a new shampoo :look:

And I confess I have really neglected my hair. I don't remember that last time I deep conditioned. I don't detangle thoroughly...I've been finger detangling only. I didn't even remember the last time I used a comb or brush. Last night I did a full detangle (finger followed by comb) and I lost soo much hair:swearing:. I need a drastic change or this hair will have to be cut. I was washing every 2-3 weeks...braid bun everyday **insert shame here** Moisturizing when I felt like it. But in my neglect, my hair did grow. I'm almost TBL now... which usually I cut by the time I get to waist. But this is the first time I didn't cut so I really am in amazement how resilient my hair is. So now I am going to try to see if I can take care of it and not cut.

Because I can do many of the protective styles myself(box braids, cornrows, and crochet, etc) whenever my hair is in a protective style, I will randomly take a braid or cornrow etc out, feel for ssks, cut them, then check for growth, then redo the braid:help:. I also neglect my hair when it is in one of the aforementioned styles (wash only) no conditioner, or braid spray so it's really crispy when I take my style down.:hair: I'm trying to do better. So far I've only taken down one of my cornrows and I have moisturized once in two weeks.:pepper:
