I want to either go to a different Bible study group within my church or go to another study group outside my church.

How should I go about telling my current group that I will no longer be joining them?

If it’s a reason that is helpful and you feel comfortable sharing, tell them the reason.

If it’s that another one fits better with your schedule or topics you feel would be more helpful to you at this time, tell them that.

Or, just say you’re gone or ghost if it’s that level of relationship.

Go to or call the group leader and share with her that you feel it's time to move on. Let her know how much you've learned from everyone and how much you are taking with you as you follow God with the rest of the journey that He has for you.

Everyone moves on. It's the cycle of life. Just let everyone know how much you are going to miss them and to please keep the door open for you to come back for visits, fellowship and prayer.

Give a thank you card to each one with a hand written note sharing how much you appreciate each of them. OR.... If you like, you can also take cupcakes to your last meeting with them with the thank you notes.

You could even type a huge 'Thank You' on some nice stationery, frame it and sign it with love. :love3: When it's time to go, it's simply time to go. No one should ever stop you from moving on with God.
