Are Side Ponytails Ghetto

I don't know if you're taking age into account, but in the tween world right now, there's a YouTube "star" named Jojo Siwa, whose signature hairstyle is a side ponytail with a huge bow. At least among younger girls these days, I'm seeing a lot of side ponytails, regardless of ethnicity and socio-economic status.

She’s not just a YouTube star. She was a dancer on the Lifetime show Dance Moms for years.

I used to watch the show with my grown behind :look: :lachen:

After reading your post I went to have a look. Um, I think we're good. I don't live in the same world as that girl and would never have known she existed if she hadn't been mentioned.

I Am So Blessed

I'm easy going.
They are nice if the (real) hair is long and you're at home all day in the bed/ on the couch with your man trying to be cute/messy I guess.

A side low French braid is better.

Lmao!!! I use to wear side ponytails like mad in my teen years and all through middle school. Ghetto? No. But, childish, teenish, youngish, trendy-ish, I wanna swing my head and look cute-ish... Yes.... I won't have a side ponytail in the middle or top of my head now as a woman. But, as a girl, yes.

If you are comfortable with side ponytails then just wear them. Doesn't matter what others think.

I have been wearing braids since I was a teenager. I remember in 2008 a woman telling me braids weren't in style and I needed to stop. The nerve.

Wow people are so....forward with their unsolicited advice! smh
