This Technique Is The Key For Me

I haven’t fully tried it, but I did get good definition when I started in one section. She said there are no exact amount of times to work it through and I think that’s a key statement. I was going on 10 minutes, so I gave up.

If you are supposed to start combing from the bottom up, and blow drying works better starting from the bottom up, adding products, for me, work from the bottom up as well.

OMG! Those products are expensive. If they aren't having 50% sales, it's not worth it for me - I'm so cheap/frugal these days :spinning:.

Ive been using this method since March and I must say... my SSKs and dry ends have reduced to almost not at all and my hair retains moisture throughout the week. When I detangle prior to washing, I apply a slippy to my ends first like the video and work my way up slowly. I apply my deep conditioner to my ends first and my styling cream & oil (LOC METHOD). The gel, I apply to my ends and roots though. Other than that....I totally agree with this method 100%

I haven’t been natural for a few years, but I really wish I researched a bit more on the technique for wash n go’s. I typically would start at the top and then go down.

I would focus more oils on the ends, but I really like the bottom to top layering technique for wash n go’s.

I'm guessing that this technique works best on 3c and above hair types? I'm just going by the premise that you all taught us that if you have no curl definition 4c, 4b etc. then you should not expect to get any no matter what products or techniques you use.

It works on type 4 so that your "coils" show up more. As long as you don't expect to have type 3 curls you get similar benefits and more moisturised ends just be sure to keep ends detangled and moisturised more frequently.

@LadyPBC, it works on type 4. The more you do it, the better you become at it. And, your hair becomes trained and responds well. Results are better when the hair is wet. If I squeeze out excess water or absorb water with a t-shirt, my results are not as defined. Products and technique definitely matter to achieve the look.
