For Those Of You Who Sleep With Conditioner Or Product On Your Hair....

What do you all sleep in to keep the product from dripping down your face/neck and leaking on the pillow? I can’t do plastic shower caps because they slide off and they make too much noise for me to sleep peacefully. Everything else soaks through the material no matter how many layers of head wrap I put on. Does anyone have any suggestions? I wanna try prepooing overnight. Thanks!

Depends on how much product you use too.

I don’t use too much of product, so sometimes if I’m sleeping on my stomach I don’t put anything over my head. Other times I just use a plastic caps and put a beanie on over it

Shower cap alternatives are Saran Wrap and plastic grocery bags. I’ve tried both in the past with good results. I prefer Saran Wrap because there is no right area rubbing on the hair line.
I decrease hair bulk by braiding or Bantu knotting hair (with loose base) midway on my head away from the side I sleep on. Hold it down while wrapping and wrap an inch or so past the hair line.
I’d still use a towel over my pillow case and an old cotton pillow. I also add a hat for warmth in the winter.

Your scalp will produce 60% of the moisture you need overnight. The conditioner gives 30%. Remove water from the hair with an absorbent cloth before adding product or start with dry hair and only add a couple of water spritz or none at all. That should stop the drips.

Saran Wrap, Plastic Cap & Durag with Ties or a Turbie Twist. So nothing leaks.

The Pre-Poo's (DC'ers) I use tend to use is on the thicker side. Nothing runs.
