Anyone Use Photogenic Hair Care?

Hi Ladies! It's been awhile since I've posted in the hair forum but I did a search and didn't see anything about this product Photogenic
. I'm wearing sisterlocks but I'm still trying to stay informed on good products for my daughter. So this is supposed to be a gel/styler edge control leave-in "beautician in a bottle"

I was on Facebook and checked youtube for reviews but I trust LHCF so have y'all heard of this and do you think I should try it? My 5 year old is type 4a.

I was just doing a search on this. Someone just mentioned it a few minutes ago. And of course the website is blocked here.
I guess no one is using it here.

I just bought this product and tried it on my daughters hair today and I absolutely love it. No other product has ever held a curl in her short 4 c Hair but this one has and it is soft and moisturized. If someone can refresh my memory of how to post pics from an iPhone , I’ll share some pictures.

Are you still using this on your daughter? How is it? I keep seeing this everywhere.

Yes, I am. Only product I have been using since the end of September. It is absolutely amazing! It keeps her dry 4 c hair consistently moisturized and soft and she is finally retaining length. I use it diluted in a spray bottle to moisturize and refresh between applications. It’s well worth the money and it’s a huge amount (32 oz) for the price.

Thanks for sharing. I wonder why this is such a miracle product. Maybe I'll try it in the new year. Keep us posted!

My order is in route. It says it should be delivered tomorrow. I’m interested to see if it elongates that hair. Im wearing 4 plaits under my wig and I’d like to keep them as stretched as possible.

I’ll come back with pictures on Sunday.

I style my LOs hair daily or at the very least every two days. His curl size are 4a and 4b in the back.

With African Pride I can reactivate with water or add more to detangle. Even if it’s a styler. Applying the curling cream, it’s softening with slip and styling at the same time.

With the photogenic it only felt slippery the more water I added. I only style on damp hair usually. His hair wasn’t soaking wet but if I really wanted to detangle I would have to keep spritzing with water.

There was leave in already in his hair and it reacted slightly with the photogenic. I smoothed as much as possible but I’ll have to see how it looks when it dries.

I will say that it is curl defining. Elongation I really don’t see it. A little bit in his bang area but that’s because the curls there are slightly bigger than his 4a.

The smell is nice. It’s raining here so when we go out later I’ll report back on if it’s soft or hard cast once it dries.

I must say I am very surprised this isn't more "out there." I received mine and used it last night on air dried hair.
I didn't think the directions provided were very clear and everyone on Youtube was using it their own way. The owner (creator) had a long *** video that I started to watch while working out.
He was using a whole lot of the product (Mind you it's $30+ a jar.)
The women were using it sparingly (on Youtube) and I was following suit.
I really like the results of my curls. From what I saw on a few videos, someone who doesn't have a natural spiral curl pattern is not going to miraculously get a curl pattern.

I'm sold.

Also, I still have shrinkage, but my hair is popping. and it's not as stiff as say a gel. And it wasn't sticky compared to my most recent finds (Can't think of the products atm)

Oh yeah, and it took my hair forever to dry. I think it's still wet and the roots and I applied it on 85-90% dry hair.

I never got a good picture of his hair because we left out and had to put a hat on as it was raining hard in nj, When we got to where we were going, his hair was flat and smushed in some places.

His hair wasn't hard when it dried. It was soft. I wasn't overly impressed or amazed. Again, his hair curled up and in the front it was slightly elongated but when it dried, same length it normally is. His hair in the back is touching the middle almost.

With that being said, I did try it on my braids Saturday night and it did elongate them and the hair feels nice. Would I buy this again, no( for now). Not unless when I come out these braids I try it by itself and my hair is amazing,

Look up the Facebook group for tips and support. I agree they are VERY heavy handed with the product in those you tube tutorials :lachen:. I do apply enough product for a good coating but not nearly as much as they. I am still very happy with the results on my daughter’s hair and I may possibly transition again with the help of Photogenic. Your hair looks great.
