My Hair Grows Best When...

When I use less and simple products.

This weeks hair routine
included me straightening my hair.
I used a thermal protectant; a touch of Grapeseed oil down the length, and sealed the ends with a touch of shea butter. When I say touch, I mean literally gliding your finger across it to get a thin film.
Results: Soft, not weighed down, and no lingering strong just pressed my hair odors.

My hair grows best when: i keep my hair in cornrows for 3 months under crochet braids.

I regularly moisturize with water and usually seal with oil, followed by a quick scalp massage. I wash and condition in the style every 2 weeks (if possible I actually remove the crochet to shampoo and DC). I change the style at least once during the 3 months.

Crochets help me too!!

Sadly, I can’t really say. My hair is the longest it’s ever been and I’m so off and on with what I do.

Leave it braided and don’t use shampoo, just use my dna cowash once a month.

Because I had to have 3 inches cut last month, I’m feeling like I need to do more. It’s like a catch 22.

I’m consistent with washing it every week. I use products that work for my hair. A healthy balance of protein and moisture. Trimming my ends regularly, and using the same products consistently, being a product junkie doesn’t help me becuase I noticed most of my growth when I used the same product week after week.
I am also sticking to the same product line!

leave it alone.....wash and DC and moisturize weekly AND be consistent with 2 step protein treatments.

This year I want to find a wig....a natural hair looking wig so I can keep my hair cornrowed underneath.
When I first got into hair care 2007-2011 (my best hair years) I was washing and dc'ing weekly, moisturizing only with shea butter, experimented with different DCs and Ayurvedic powders and did regular 2 step protein treatments and got one professional trim each year with self trims and search and destroys. Oh I did use growth aids...I might still have some laying around...

Any wig company recs?

basking in the sun
  • Deep conditioning with heat
  • Shea butter helps to retain length
  • Consistently moisturizing instead of letting it dry out
  • Using more natural products with less ingredients
  • Don’t wear my hair out everyday even though I love to
When I do all of the above I noticed less breakage and shedding plus increased growth and thickness especially when using natural products
