@LiLi i used tension setting 6 on high heat. It got it pretty straight but next time I'll use serum instead.
@icsonia22 my hair is reverting a little but I think that's due to the moisturizer I used. I was thinking to stretch this hair for 2 weeks but I want see if serum works better to keep the hair straight.

How is everyone's hair holding up from reversion? Mine has reverted a little (that's the chance you take when your product contains glycerin) but it's still stretched and not tangled. I can still pull shed hairs out without them snagging. I actually love the tad bit of shrinkage because my hair looks so much fuller. You can barely even tell that I'm growing out an undercut in the back. I have been twisting my hair up or putting it into 4 large braids before bed. This would normally be too much manipulation for my fine strands, but the combo of the Shea lubrication and the revair stretch allows me to do things I couldn't normally do.
I am the same. Twisting or braiding would cause breakage before but I don’t mind manipulating my hair now.

When I blow dry my whole head, I will report back about reversion. I plan to blow dry my whole head once I figure out the products that give me the best results.

How is everyone's hair holding up from reversion?
My hair becomes poofy within the week. Not necessarily reverted but not as sleek as the first few days. It remains stretched though which is my goal.

I don't apply any product to my hair to maintain the sleekness after the initial blow dry. I don't cover my head when I shower either so it is what it is. It gives me the biggest buns ever

I finally found my perfect blow out products!!! After washing out my Ors protein treatment, I applied chi silk serum to each section and put my hair into medium size twist. I combed through my hair with an off brand tangle teezer and then untwisted the twist I was working with before putting it into the revair on high heat level 7. As soon as I took my hair out of the revair, I thoroughly applied whipped Shea butter from root to tip and twisted the hair back up (it was too straight to remain twisted). My hair is sooooo soft and it feels moisturized. The greasiness is on a level 10 but that will improve over the next few days. I'm hoping to stretch this blow out for a month unless I decide to install a protective style. IMG_20190109_000234-979x1305.jpg IMG_20190109_000017-979x1305.jpg IMG_20190108_235731-979x1305.jpg

I'm starting to realize that a lot of type 4 naturals that I follow online use blow dryer to stretch their hair. Some of these women have tailbone length kinky hair with strands on the finer side. I've never truly thought about the importance of stretching for length retention until now. I'm so excited for what the future holds.

I’m off to get the babyliss nano titanium pro. I read rave reviews about it. I can’t wait to try it.

Skrrrrrrr....had to speed up in here and drop my 2 cents real quick. I have the babyliss nano prima 3000. The babyliss flat irons (the legit ones. I bought a fake from Amazon one time that was trash) are professional so they give AMAZING results. They conduct heat evenly so be really careful if you're trying to avoid heat damage. If you do anything more than 400 degrees, one pass is sufficient.

I was just about to come in and say the same thing about the damage!! Lol. With titanium, you should use a lot less heat then you would with ceramic or tourmaline. I am too scared to buy anything with titanium plates. Lol.

I’m joining! I bought the Revair but wasn’t happy with the results I saw based on the price tag. I returned it and bought the revlon blow dry brush - and the results are the same with either one.

-Relaxed or Natural: natural
-Blow dryer used: Revlon blow dry brush
-Products used when blow drying: so far, I’ve used the Form leave in spray. It has my hair feeling very soft.
-How often you blow dry: it’ll be once every 2-3 weeks
-What products do you use to moisturize
(if any) after blow drying? Design essentials silk spray, looking for more ideas here.
-Do you have any tips to share? Not yet, just starting this journey!
My blow dry is still holding on and looking decent. I’ve started wearing it up in a high ponytail and it looks full even without curling. I added As I Am gro-oil because I was losing edges due to postpartum shedding. I think I need oil or something heavier than shine spray as my style gets older. This is working out well, I just comb my hair every day to get out shed hairs (which I know would form dreads if I wore my hair curly right now) and put it up in a clip at night with a scarf. Down in the daytime until I have to go somewhere. Then the pony. Easy!! I plan to wash next week sometime.

My edges were BALD when I went through post partum shedding. Keeping my hair stretched was a must or else I would have had to grab the scissors and cut knots out.

Thanks. I meant the blow dryer. Any issues with the dryer and heat damage? I haven’t opened the package yet so I can still take it back.

My hair started to feel a little thirsty after my nothing but Shea butter and chi silk serum on blown out hair craze so I drove around town looking for a good moisturizer. Luckily, all of the stores were out of the particular product that I was going to try. I came back home and stared at my tried and true s curl activator spray but I was too afraid to use it because I knew that the glycerin would cause reversion. I finally decided that having hair that feels good is more important to me than hair that looks good. I'll let people say my hair looks nappy all day long but I never want to give them a chance to say it feels like it looks. I undid my rope twist (done with my hair without extensions) and sprayed the activator on my hand instead of directly onto my hair like I normally would. I squeezed the product into my hair without completely saturating it. Then I sealed with whipped Shea butter and put my hair back into the rope twist. When I took the twist down today....good God a mighty....minimal shrinkage y'all.....and my hair feels like the clouds of heaven.

Popping in to say hello! I guess I count as a blow-dried natural now.

I'm natural.
I use the RevAir dryer.
I mix a little Aveda Smooth Infusion Style Prep with Oyin Hair dew, then I add Aveda Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight.
I blow dry once a week.
I add a little shea butter after blow drying. If my hair feels dry I add CRN Almond Jai before the shea butter. Sometimes I add oil. During the week if my hair is dry I add more Hair dew.

My hair is in a shameful 5-weeks post-wash state. I flat ironed for the holidays and then just let my hair revert (moisturizing it randomly during the weeks) and now it's in a big bun with a silk bun former. When I take this down this week I'll have hell to pay.

Blow drying weekly really kept detangling time and SSKs down.

I'm gonna need some pics because that profile pic isnt doing that head full of beautiful thick hair justice! What setting do you use with your revair?

I wish I could use S-Curl. I can’t deal with the smell since I used it for many years when I had a jheri curl.

How long have you been blow drying once a week? I can’t wait to see pics!

this was a recent pic of it in an attempted flat iron. not quite WL after trims. I haven't taken any recents after just a blow dry.

Your hair is gorgeous!!! Would you say that you do more protective styles or low manipulation styles? Lately I've been having an internal debate about whether or not kinky textured hair needs to be protective styled all the time or just stretched and moisturized well to retain length.

Y'all know I fall in love with a new blow out product every week and this week is no exception lol. I planned to stretch my last blow out but I had put some Shea butter on my scalp. Now don't get me wrong. My hair loves whipped Shea butter but my scalp said "THE DEVIL IS A LIE!" In order to get rid of the scalp soreness, I washed my hair with some boiled onion juice, left it on for an hour and followed up with a shampoo and deep conditioner. (Lotta body deep conditioner ain't half bad). My hair was in single braids at the time and I was too lazy to blow dry right away. After a few days, I detangled with tgin buttercream daily moisturizer and blow dried with the revair. The revair infused the tgin moisturizer into my hair so that all I had to do after the fact was seal with whipped Shea butter (not on my scalp this time hehe). I put my hair in long plats and took my hair down today for a braid out. Babaaay, the definition was popping and my hair felt moisturized without being greasy for once. Tgin buttercream is one of my new staples. If your hair isn't down with the Jerry curl juice, give tgin a chance.

What a difference a few hours make. I know that I could use a product with hold to look less like a poodle by the middle of the day but I love how cottony my hair feels. This probably isn't the best style to wear to church because it turns into a bit of a view blocker about 30 minutes into service.

My list of things to try is getting longer!! Lol. I am glad trying it out a new way worked out for you! So now would you use the Tgin instead of the Scurl?

I was lazy this week and didn’t wash/condition my hair. I did moisturize it throughout the week though. Maybe I will do it tomorrow since I have the day off.

OMG you are making me blush with all of these compliments lol. Thank you. I would definitely go with the tgin because my hair feels light and fluffy instead of weighed down and greasy. Plus you can add the tgin before you put your hair into the revair and your hair will still retain the moisture. I side eyed the 14.99 dollar tag at first but it was well worth it. I promise I'm done dabbling lol

Blush girl because no lies were told!! Hehehe. Ok I am definitely putting it on my list of things to try!! I like like and fluffy!!! Keep dabbling though! This is fun experimenting!!

I am going to get my lazy behind up and do an overnight honey treatment so it will be nice and soft tomorrow and then I can use the blow dryer. I am going to try your method but use the Camille Rose Love Curls Milk (I think that’s what it’s called) since I have it on hand.
