Pretty... How'd you do this bun?

Hi @CheChe1881

It is actually super simple (lets just hope make explanation makes it seem as simple as it was). I pulled my hair to the back and used a 5inch banana clip horizontally. I split the hair coming out of the clip into 2 sections and twisted each section loosely. I then took the left twist and wrapped it down and around then pinned. Then I took the right twist and wrapped it up and around and pinned it. Hope that helps.

I Am So Blessed

I'm easy going.
BUMP!

Tell me alll about your buns hun:laugh:
•Are you relaxed, texlaxed, natural, loced, or something I didn't mention?
I am currently relaxed

•Wet bun, damp bun, or dry bun?

Depends honestly. I used to wet bun like crazy when my hair was shorter, but now that it’s longer, being sipping wet for long periods of time is a no-go. I’ll damp bun if my hair doesn’t dry fast enough and it’s time to leave for school or work, but I prefer now to dry bun.

•What's the length of your hair?

~35.5 inches (3.5 inches from Classic length)

•Do you like to supplement your bun with a little extra?

Absolutely! I have an entire cubby filled with ficcares, hair forks, hair sticks, bun holders, and the occasional Bobby pin

•Favorite tools to use (hair ties, combs, brushes, etc.,)

Scrunchies.

•How often do you switch position of your bun(s)?

Not often. Mostly because I do them very loosely, so I don’t accrue breakage, or scalp soreness.

•What products do you use to whip that bun into shape?

Water, leave-in, Shea Butter/Cupuaçu Butter

•Favorite go to bun style/last minute bun?

Nautilus Bun, or a lazy wrap bun.

Last but not least, pictures are always welcomed

None, I style my hair on Sunday with the intentions for it to last all week. Unfortunately, working out has derailed my plan.

I went back to look at the pictures I originally posted and realized how much my buns have changed. They took a turn to the side and have made their way down to frame my (much thinner) face. It is fun to look at your own hair comparisons pictures. Can’t wait to see what the next 2 years bring!!!

Thank You!! You are so sweet.

I definitely know that feeling of not being able to take wearing your hair out for too long.

Buns are my most common way to wear my hair. I can't do these laid down buns all of y'all are doing. It's just too difficult for me to get my hair to lay down and I'm tenderheaded.

•Are you relaxed, texlaxed, natural, loced, or something I didn't mention?
Natural

•Wet bun, damp bun, or dry bun?
Dry, though I might moisturize or oil before doing it. Wet bunning attempts result in knots and tangles for me.

•What's the length of your hair?
MBL

•Do you like to supplement your bun with a little extra?
(tracks, marley hair, braiding hair, etc.,)?
No

•Favorite tools to use (hair ties, combs, brushes, etc.,)
No combs or brushes. I just wrap my hair with my hands and secure with a hair fork or a hair stick

•How often do you switch position of your bun(s)?
Hmm, I guess I move it around a little sometimes, either directly in back as a low bun or to the side a little bit, still low.

•What products do you use to whip that bun into shape?
Yeah, none. This must be why it's difficult for me to do those laid down buns y'all do. I see the youtube videos with people putting on stuff and brushing into shape, I just can't do it. Whatever products go in are not for the style, they're just for general hair maintenance (moisturizing and oiling).

•Favorite go to bun style/last minute bun?
My favorite is one that I can't really do properly without having at least WL hair, but I can do a close enough approximation as long as I have at least BSL hair. It's called the lazy wrap bun. youtube demo:
Since I don't have long straight hair, my approximation ends up with hair pushed out and down. Pic of my hair yesterday, in dire need of a detangling. The fork is a 60th street fork. I find thinner, slick tines slide in more easily, and forks grab more hair than sticks, so if I'm having a hard time (like now because my hair needs detangling and thus doesn't stretch out for more length easily), this is the fork to use.

But I use sticks a lot too.

Bumping thread!!!

Although my hair is in somewhat of a pixie cut, I'm all about that Bun Life :toocool:
I pulled my hair back to make a lil ity bity bun, I'm relaxed and use ponytail holders to secure my bun until my hair grow some more.
I started attempting to bun last month in September, I'll more than likely be bunning the remainder of this year and all next year with the exception of a few days.
