Had my stuff feeling like cotton balls. No real moisture remains after wash day even after sealing.. any ideas?

If you are in hot and DRY climate with low/no humidity then less washing may be beneficial. When I lived in Vegas, and in Phoenix, daily water rinsing and leaving in the conditioner kept my hair from feeling dry and brittle. Just slather the condish on, style and then let it dry. I would wash every few days but mainly my scalp. And I didn't use any special products, less is more. It was Pantene for me, any type of moisturizing or hydrating curls. So I guess cones were my saving grace out there. I didn't use any oils or gels or anything. I'm 4b w/some 4a sprinkled throughout. HTH! :)

ETA: This was my regi with both natural and relaxed hair in that climate. Also, knowing what I know now, you could throw in a biweekly DC. GL to you!

Daily.. gotta take this pupster of mine for her walks
@MzSwift gave some good tips too.

I’d also suggest keeping certain parts, or as much of your hair covered as possible.

Even with good products, lots of moisture, and quality sealants, most of everything doesn’t match against the unforgiving ways of the sun, and the elements.

Happens to me a lot too. At least a light head wrap can shield from rays, wind, and other weather conditions.
