Avlon Texture Release Taking Off In The Uk

Hi, i have been following for years and managed to get my hair quite long when it was relaxed using this forum.

After i had my child a couple of years ago i decided i didnt want to relax my hair again. However still wanted to wear it straight. My salon recommended the Texture Release by Avlon. It has been great to be honest as my hair feels healthier, hardly any breakage etc. But i am a little concerned that there is not many reviews of the texture release which makes me think its not as big in the US as it is starting to get big here in the UK. Does have any experience with it?

I plan on trying this out at the end of the year. I have been researching it for months. There aren't many reviews on it. I found a few videos on Youtube and on avlon's UK instagram. I found an authorized dealer to buy from. Of the reviews I have found people seem to love it.

This seems similar to the Keratin Complex personalized blow out that gives you the option to keep your curls and skip the flat ironing part.

So is this a keratin treatment alternative? Never heard of it until now.
How long have you been getting the treatments? Does your hair fully revert back?

Been around 2 years now. Hair reverts back when washed. Then apply heat and it looks relaxed until i was it again. Its great, would just love to know someone who has used it for longer than me.

Which option of the treatment do you have? Did you only blow dry it in or did you also flat iron?
How many passes of the flat iron and what temp?
What was your curl pattern before the treatment & now after?
Can your hair get straight with just a rollerset?
How often do you get the treatment? Do you let it wear off completely before the next treatment?

Thanks

Hi

I have the treatment option so i can get the straight look. Blow dry and Flat iron. Only 1 pass over hair with flat iron but high heat. My curl pattern is a 4C, curls are elongated now after this treatment.

I get the treatment every 12-16 weeks. It does tend to get less effective once im in the 12-16 week period. My hair doesn't look as relaxed probably from Regrowth and the fact that you loose some of the treatment with each wash.

I picked up the kit yesterday from an authorized dealer. I plan to do a strand test next weekend and watch this strand for a about a month. I've been in repair mode from a keratin treatment I tried last June that damaged my hair and made it break off & thin out in spots. I stopped the breakage after about 2 months. If this strand test goes well, I will do the treatment on my whole head.

Im interested in hearing your thoughts on this. I have always wondered about the timed release version.

I did my strand test tonight. My hair feels like silk. The treatment smells really good. After blow drying my hair, it felt really soft. With other treatments I have tried, after the blow dry step my hair would feel really dry & hard. This treatment comes with a heat protectant that you spray on before blow drying & before flat ironing.

The instructions say for natural styling, blow dry only & use the curl shape & shine cream leave in styler for a wash & go or twist out. For versatile straightening that leaves body in the hair, do 3 passes at 350. For optimal straightening that lasts 2-3 months, do 7 passes at 450. I did two passes of the flat iron on 410 degrees.

I don’t think my hair can handle 7 passes at 450. I didn’t want to risk having damage. I hope it still lasts 2-3 months. I will monitor this strand for a month to make sure there isn’t any breakage, then I’ll do my whole head.
