This is the last free weekend before I go on holiday so I need to put some braids in pretty much now.
I've had the same slightly dusty in the middle but shiny out the outside bun for a week and a bit.

Wash with head and shoulders followed by a moisturising shampoo.
Deep condition w/ Joico KPak Reconstructor followed my Joico KPak Hydrator.
Airdry + stretch or Blow dry

Take some pics ;)

rogaine on my scalp and install some chunky twists with marley hair. I say chunky because This hair style will not take longer than 4 hours and my parts will be determined by that. That's like 4 episodes of Mindhunter

I'll probably use more Joico Hydrator or Maui moisture curl activator with a thick layer of Grease to install.

For some reason, it’s difficult to keep my two strand twists neat for two weeks. So I decided I will wash my hair once a week to refresh the style.

The twists came out great this week, so I think instead of doing a full wash day, I will modify it to keep the braid pattern:

Night Before:
PrePoo twists (don’t undo)

Next Day:
Shampoo twists w/ SM Raw Shea
Cowash w/ Garnier Honey Whole Blends
M&S twists after drying w/t-shirt:
(L) SM Raw Shea Co
(C) Lottabody Curl & Style Milk
(B) DIY Whipped Shea Butter
Retwist w/ Eco Styler Krystal

I did my hair earlier this week due to an event on Saturday. I also went to a salon for the 1st time in 5 years for a trim. The stylist commented numerous times about how healthy my hair is and I did not have spit ends. It made me feel good that all the hard work, time and dedication is paying off. Here is what I did before visiting the salon:

Clarified: Redken Cleansing Cream
Poo: Keracare Hydrating Detangling Poo 2x
Protein Treatment: Komazacare Protein Strengthener
DC: Mielle Mongongo Protein Free DC for 30 mins under heat
Leave-ins: Annabelles Liquid Leave-in
Heat Protectant: Mielle Mongongo Heat Protectant
Dry: RevAir
Flat iron: EAP Heat on 390

On a happy hair journey
The last time I did anything to my hair was last weekend when I misted it with water. The Taliah Waajid Protective Styles line of products came in today so I went about washing and conditioning. I think I did a decent job of not messing up the box braids. I took a few braids down and redid them in order to check how my hair is doing. No problems so far.

FRIDAY
Mist roots and braids with water
Wash: Dry Gel Shampoo on scalp
Condition: Strengthening Leave-In Conditioner sprayed on braids
Seal: Growth Oil on roots

I have the Restoring Serum too but didn't use that, because both it and the Dry Gel Shampoo have peppermint in them. The peppermint is pretty strong so I didn't want to over do it. Will probably use with the Growth Oil mid-week to remoisturize and seal.

  • Hot oil treatment w/ ayurvedic oil blend
  • Renpure Rose Water Shampoo x2
  • Renpure Rose Water Conditioner
  • Camille Rose Algae Renew w/ heat 20min
  • Style TBD
My poor neglected hair and scalp need the works.
Probably being a little ambitious here. Still not 100% better and the oil treatment alone has tired me out.

EDIT: I skipped deep conditioning as I remembered how much I'm not about that double shower life. Did 4 shower braids followed by sweet almond oil.

Took down my braids in order to put in some faux locs.

Mix: Sedr, hibiscus and green tea
DC: blended and strained (although still not enough) fenugreek, the last of my DC mixed with DRC 28 and NPF, and some shea butter mix for softness
Leave-ins: TGIN green tea li, tresemme heat protectant
Stretch: revlon blow dry brush

Tomorrow I'll plait up my hair and hopefully install the locs all in one so I can get work done on monday.

Its 7 AM on a Monday morning and I. Just. Got. It. In.
Shampoo: Hask Cactus Water
DC: 15 mins in the shower with Shea Moistures something or the other. Lol I didn't even look at the jar!
Leavein: Mielle Honey Pomegranate
Styler: Eco Olive Oil gel
Under the dryer to set it a little but it will mostly air dry all day at work.

I was wondering if your scalp was really dirty @oneastrocurlie

I had braids in for two weeks so yup lol. I used Shea moisture's braid foam cleanser but overall it's was definitely time for a wash but I don't typically use shampoo.

That combo cleaned everything off my hair and scalp but my hair color. Way too squeaky clean. The build up buster will lather if you use enough of it. I probably could have gotten away with just that. Or maybe mix that and a cowash.
