I was turned off from her by one of her videos on YouTube. She had a very condescending attitude in it. Then I saw some videos of former clients & they talked about how they were treated and how she didn’t like doing certain hair types, i.e type 4 :look:
I actually ran into her on the crosstown bus!

Her line uses 2 silicones. FYI. I will not be trying.

Sallybeauty is running a promo on her products. Four (4) for $20.00, you have to purchase 4 items.

So far, I'm only interested in the scalp cleanser. I'm always down for a good scalp exfloliant, but I'm not interested in buying 4 of a unkown product to me.

Why are the products only 4.22, 6, and 6.76 oz?

I saw that sale as well. There are 4 products that have good ingredients and no silicones. The shampoo is not available yet. The sizes are small to match the price. 20 dollars isn’t bad to try 4 of the products. I am interested in the scalp exfoliant too.

And there you have it. She knows how to do her hair and textures very similar to her own. That said, she does seem to understand the science behind hair and how/when to use certain products.

I did take advantage of the 4 items for $20 deal and used them on my daughter's hair. Her hair texture is similar to Mo's, but probably a bit more fine. I used the scalp cleanser, co-wash, curl primer and the curl smoothing pudding. I like the scalp cleanser and everything has a nice smell. I wasn't impressed with the other items and like another poster said, the sizes are small. I probably won't repurchase any of these items.

Preliminary Review
Scalp clarifier - Need to use again to see...
Co Wash - need to use it again to see.
Pudding- very impressed with the texture let’s see how the hair comes out
Gel - returning to the store I’m not using it due to users on you tube, my cousin and nephew having bad bad FLAKING of the product.

Can I say that Mo is shading Pattern Beauty in 2 of her videos??? LOL In one video, she said conditioners were not supposed to be a foamy mess and in the latest video she said you don't design products according to curl pattern (Curly, Coily or Tightly Textured). I think it if fair to design products based on porosity....

I find redeeming qualities in both lines so I will continue to use both..

I think Mo should focus on designing products according to texture and porosity too. Those characteristics matter. Texture and porosity affect how hair responds to products. Curl pattern and texture affects styling results. I see why Mo's clients with type 4 hair have lack luster results. She tries to treat the textures the same.

But you know what? I’m seeing more positive reviews for Mo’s line than Tracee’s

Might have to do with it being more accessible so more people can get it to review it in general.
No, there are a LOT of Pattern reviews on You Tube.

One mistake I see reviewers making is not adding water to the product. The products really work when activated with water.

Lol I know but more people can afford 4 for $20 vs one product for $25. I'm sure there's more positive reviews for Shea Moisture than Briogeo. But one 8oz DC from them is a whole line of SM products

I think the fact that Mo is a youtuber is influencing some of these reviews too. I watched a lot of reviews and a couple of people said they didn't want to point out anything negative because they wanted to support a fellow youtuber. Both Mo and Tracee are receiving some fan girl passes on their lines. The real test will be a few months from now. Influencers always return to their staples. I don't see either of these lines becoming staples for most people.

I could see the curl pudding being a staple for me.

I took another scalp clarifier because Mo’s products were SOLD OUT. ONLY 3 products on the shelf.

If anyone is waiting on the shampoo, it won’t be available until the holiday season. That sucks. I had wanted to use the special to get the shampoo.

I saw two type 4 videos where there was no difference before or after. Each did complain of flaking and it was very visible on camera. The curl pudding seemed to be the only good thing from the line.

One person complained about the sizes being too small and that despite what people think, type 4’s can easily use a lot of product just based on how product spreads through the hair. Even if I catch the 4/$20 deal, 5oz of product is only a deal breaker for grease and edge control for me.

You are speaking nothing but truth here...I went to her salon to get my hair done and she refused to do a roller set on my hair because it was thicker and more textured than what she was used to. She charged me less to get it flat ironed because she isn't used to working with textures different than her own. All of us with hair other than 3a/3b all looked the same when we left. The experience at her salon was not that great either but on the positive she does a really nice trim and listened to what I wanted cut even though I know she wanted to cut more. She actually tried to talk me into layers which I was not interested in at all...that being said the only product I was interested in was the scalp clarifier and so far I really like it. The other products will be a hard pass from me!
