I had a busy day so didn't finish my hair. I did wash with a creamy cleanser and I applied a Kerastase mask. I'm going to leave that in over night because I don't feel like twisting my hair up tonight. I will rinse it out tomorrow and install another set of 2 strand twists.

I was panicking because I want to flat iron in December and I was thinking I had packed my flat iron away in the shed. It is impossible to get to anything in there. But then I remembered I planned ahead and put it in my storage unit which is much easier to get to. I may stop by this week and pick it up. I'm tempted to flat iron this month but I'm going to hold off until Thanksgiving.

I want my last length check to be in Dec. I haven’t been doing anything really to protective style though. It just hasn’t worked out. I’m leaning towards kinky twists next weekend but I hate having to stretch my hair just to get it braided up.

I really need two inches of growth though. It will be nice to go into 2020 aiming for MBL

I think I'm going to be overly concerned with my hair until I do my length check. Then once I do my length check I will probably be disappointed for 2 weeks  Then I will be aggravated and get over it and then be fine for a few more months.

I know I got some growth but not enough to make APL. But not sure how far past my last length check I am. Fortunately I'm way too lazy right now to blow dry so I can definitely push my length check off until the end of November.

I decided to skip wash day. I took down my twist, added a little water, braid spray and oil and put in new flat twist. I am feeling a bit lazy so it will be flat twists for a while. I'm considering doing 2 strands once a month or every other month to see if I can notice any growth.

Right now I know it is growing because of the grays coming in. Not sure if I am retaining any at all. In it's stretched shape my hair always seems the same length. Can't wait until I can do more with it.

Been away from the forum for awhile, but still growing out my hair. I made APL back in March, now growing for BSB/BSL. These two are the same measurement, and very close to waist, so it's difficult not to obsess. I'm in a full sew in now - yes it looks wiggy, no I don't care! ;) I plan on washing and DC-ing every two weeks, and taking it out on either week 6 or week 8. If I don't experience any difficulties with this, I'll take two weeks off in between and then get another install.

HI! It has been a bit over one month since my last check in. I have been moisturizing my hair pretty regularly and keeping it in a protective style that i actually believe is protecting it. I have a simple ponytail with a satin covered hair tie. it isn't pulling my edges and it looks decent once I finish moisturizing, apply gel, and tie it down. Speaking of styles, I have a few wigs that match my texture. I took out the straps and I am also going to cut out the comb and use something else to attach to my braids underneath.

I should straighten it and clip the ends soon in order to keep my spring and fall clipping. These are the easiest times and the best times to have my hair straight because I have a lot of activities every year at these times.

Not much going on here. In two weeks I plan to color, blow dry and dust my ends. I think I will still wait to straighten until December.

I had a brief moment yesterday where I was tempted to relax my hair. It didn't last long. All of the things I hate about relaxing came back to me. I just need to remain calm until I can bun my hair and then keep it simple.

I probably wont have a length check for December.

There's a slight chance I might but we will see. I'm going to try out this hair style next month so we will see. I know currently Im at BSB.

I'm trying to straighten my hair to clip the ends, but I am uninspired. It's dry and I'm in the very same place I was this time last year.

:bighug:

I'm uninspired as well. But clip your ends just to be good to your hair. Maybe do 2 or 3 deep conditioning pampering sessions before you straighten. And if you still don't feel like it maybe just do a blow dry so you can clip the ends.

Scheduled a haircut for next Friday.

I forgot all about my shea for most of the past 6 months, so I scheduled a check in here and I'll start to use a template... I'll come to add my template when I come up with one

I straightened and trimmed yesterday and I'm so happy with how my hair looks!! It's not a smidge longer but I'm happy with how it looks at this length. I was thinking about Bcing for a hot second, so a little cut did me good. I'm at the point in my hair journey where I rather retain less length and have healthy ends.

Just used it.. I really like how soft and easy to detangle it made my hair... have your tried anything else in this line?
Yes I have. I also used the 1st Lather Shampoo (this is a sulfate free shampoo but it squeaky cleans the hair and you have to use the Detangling Moisturizing shampoo afterwards to soften the hair.

I use the Restorative Masque (love this strengthening treatment - leaves hair strong and soft).

I have used the Humecto deep moisturizing conditioner and I used to like it a couple of years ago but I don't care for it anymore since my hair never feels moisturized anymore. However, it does leave the hair light, bouncy and easy to blow dry once it's rinsed out if that's what you need to use it for.

The Affirm 5 in 1 Reconstructor is absolutely wonderful - it definitely controls breakage and is mild enough to use weekly.

Hope this helps.
