MAJOR hit: Oribe Moisture & Control Deep Treatment Masque

I was so skeptical to try this product at first because of its steeeeep price tag. I could literally get at least two or more products for this one, but I thought why not try it out and see if it lives up to the reviews. I am also on a mission to find and try more luxury hair products.

This is literally the best deep conditioner I have ever used in my natural hair life!!! I intentionally stripped my hair of any oils and debris by using a Phyto detox pre-shampoo masque, ACV rinse and shampoo. My hair was tangled to the touch. I wanted to see how this product would work on extremely dry and matted hair.

As soon as it touched my hair it melted. My hair literally melted like butter. And there was no white residue in sight. Every drop of the product was absorbed into my low porosity hair. This was the FIRST time I was able to actually use my Tangle Teezer BEFORE I DC'd. This was unthinkable with every other DC I've used, including my favorite DC's from Phyto and Rene Furterer.

This product absorbed instantly, left no residue and allowed me to detangle before sitting under my steamer. I could do in one product what would normally require three (1 DC or 2 DCs, and either Bask Beauty YAM Nectar or an Ayurvedic oil product).

I am about to sit under my steamer, but I am already sold. My new DC holy grail.

Great review @Rastafarai.

This is the same way I feel about Amika Triple Rx which has been changed to the current Amika KURE DC - Only the name has changed, nothing else. I will be trying out the Amika SouldFood Nourishing DC as soon as it arrives.

Curls and Potions Rice Water Gloss, sank into my hair and I didnt need a deep conditioner afterwards. Hair was soft and pliable.

Kindred Butter Naomi Hair Grease, good job at sealing, hair was sheeny and soft the next day

PJN Rhassoul Clay Wash and her Rhassoul Clay shampoo, great at cleansing. Only need to use one though next time, lol

Curls and Potions Rice Water Gloss, I used half a jar in one sitting. The consistency makes me use more to cover my hair. Its loose. I would like it to be a tad more creamier to spread more.

I really wanted to like this masque, because the smell is divine. I tried it 3 times and gave up on it. My hair was so soft when it was on, but when I rinsed it out my hair had no slip whatsoever. It doesn't have silicones, so that is the reason why it didn't have slip. My hair likes deep conditioners with silicones, especially Amodimethicone.

On the other hand, the shampoo for this deep conditioner is great.

I just finished bottles of Kreyol Essence shampoo, conditioner and hair mask.

I really enjoyed it.

I'm still working with the hair milk, shea butter, face wash, moringa oil and haitian castor oil (all from the same line)

Those products are all FANTASTIC

ETA: I've finished their hand and body lotion. That was nice as well!!!

Aloe Vera gel pre-poo
Aloe Vera juice under DC
Alikay Naturals Moisturizer
My 4c hair has been soft all week for the first time EVER

Meh
Alikay Lemongrass Leave In - I think it caused my scalp to itch for two days but not 100% sure since I used rice water for the first time on the same day.

Okay it's official, I absolutely love  love this new Amika line, new to me anyway.

So far I have tried the Amika Normcore shampoo and rinse out conditioner, the Triple Rx DC (protein), and the Nourishing Mask (moisture).

HIT:
I absolutely love the Normcore Signature Shampoo - it is very moisturizing on my hair plus you DO NOT need alot of it. It sud up very thickly and quickly. I was actually able to detangle my hair. I will never need to order this one any larger than the 10.1 oz bottle since a little goes a very, very long way.

A SLIGHT MISS:
The Normcore Signature rinse out conditioner was good but not great on my hair. It did not offer a lot of slip, a little, but definitely not a lot and I like a lot of slip on my 4a/b hair. This is not a repurchase item for me but I'm glad I got to try it. Now I have to be honest, my curls sprang into place so nicely after rinsing it out but the Triple RX Mask did the same thing as well, which by the way is a keeper - I am in love with this one.

HIT:
I have the Amika Nourishing Mask on right now and it glided through my hair like butter. It has so much slip and it's a definite keeper. These are expensive products but because they are so thick and concentrated, you do not need a lot since they spread surprisingly well.

Now I'm curious about any leave-in they may offer. I'll try to wait for a coupon to try some more of their products. Currently I have 4 of the 16 oz jars of the Triple Rx, 2 and a half jars of the Nourishing Mask, 2 of the 10 oz Triple Rx shampoos and one Normcore Moisturizing shampoo. I need to order more of the Nourishing ( renamed SoulFood Nourishing Mask). I love the new name by the way.

Keeping to weekly watering my hair aka wash day

Continued Hits

Curl Origin Leave in Whipped Cream, Im starting to love this leave in. Always leaves my hair soft after applying

Wasnt a Hit or a Miss

Honeys Handmade Carrot Vanilla Cowash, It was a tiny bit sudsy. Felt more like a conditioner than a cleansing cowash. Hair rinsed out soft but nothing amazing

SSI Pomegranate Pear Quenching conditioner, It was okay. Will mix with henna to use up for a henna gloss.

Creole Belle Organics Styling Jelly. It needs moisture in the air. The top of my head is moist because I have a hat on and its trapping the heat in, the twists that are hanging on the side are firm. I'll bring this back out in the spring/summer.

Gorgeously Kinky
Knot detangling leave in- soft silky hair, moisturizes and sinks in.
Buttercream- love it.

gvp the balm- first time trying this. It actually feels great as a cowash. I used to have Aussie in my rotation when I needed a cheapie to cowash with, this will replace that. I may pick up some more for the summertime but I might be in and out of braids so it will be unnecessary. Also the fact that it’s Sally’s and probably won’t reformulate for a while makes me feel better about not stocking up.

If you could send me something with the original ingredients, I could check to see if I have it in storage. I have a bottle of Wetline, but idk if it’s the original.

I don’t know why I’m just now seeing the alert for your quote!

I actually just found 2 jars of the OG formula on eBay :headspin: but the ingredients for the original clear gel are:

Water, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Polyacrylate Acid, Glycerin, Fragrance, Phenylcarbinol, Methylchloisothiazolinone, Methylisotiazolinone, Panthenol, Aloe Vera Extract, Tetrasodium EDTA, Colorant FD&C Violet #2

Hits.

PJN Sea Moss & Kpangnan FSG Buttercream , smooth and creamy. No shea butter or aloe and or coconut oil. Sunk in. Moisturizing and seems to be a slight hold so far. Lightly scented , I can smell the cocoa butter coming through.

Natures Little Secret Fenugreek Prepoo, slip for days, sinks in with no need of tools. You can detangle with your fingers. Slightly minty smell. Great as a prepoo , even better as a detangler

steaming my henna gloss in , steam just makes everything better

Not rinsing enough. I felt a little grit after air drying overnight.
