The one in PG Plaza is nice, but that's near the end of the Green line somewhere. I could see if there was a direct link from the subway station to the mall, but you gotta cross that daggon highway.

i go to the one in Hyattsville across from the plaza (Queens Chapel i think) with the giant's in it - Discount Beauty store or something like that. I like their prices. I don't know if they have surge. But I'm goin to look. I found out that giant sells profectiv mega growth cheaper than beauty stores though. I will also look at the shoppers behind the giants and the beauty store over by shoppers.

The Beauty store on rhode island up by the dollar store is overpriced.

I will have to check out the other beauty store on rhode island to compare some prices - all of these are within my crusing grounds

ooh ooh, im coming!! i missed the most recent one, but im going to try to make the 2nd one..even tho ill probably have my hair braided

karonica, i couldnt imagine crossing east-west highway to get to PG, lol. its not funny, as in ha ha funny, but its pretty comical to watch people attempt to cross it from the metro.. theyd step one foot out and here comes 1000 cars and run right back, its like watching a episode of candid camera or america's funniest home video. i thought they built some kind of bridge or something for people to walk over, but i guess not, because afterall PG plaza is ...drumroll please..GHETTO! i do like the BSS there tho, so ill let if off the hook this time!

lmao @ the hispanic surveillance at the queens chapel store, lmao! one time one of them walked up to me like can i help u..i was like ummm...why are u working here

I hate PG mall. Half the people in there are black guys that aren't shopping, but hunting for girls, no offense.

But yeah, I'm one of those people who stand there trynna cross that highway. I'm sure watching people do this is hysterical. I run out halfways and end up running back half the time.

I wouldn't dare step foot in that bridge. I see the type of people in the mall, do you think I want to be in a walk-way bridge with them, all the way up in the air? I don't think so.

The word "ghetto" is being used so loosely here. I'm the first to admit when a place is dangerous or ghetto...but Hyattsville and PG Mall? Whoa....I most certainly disagree. But maybe my tolerance is just higher.

not hyattsville, but the beauty store. maybe ur tolerance is high, but the bars on the window is ghetto im sorry. pg plaza is way ghetto, the checking your bags in the front of the store for like a store that sells 3 dollar clothing. the teenage blk boys walking around spitting on the floor, just chillin, the things that go on there is atrocius. just walking into that mall digusts me. not to mention the time i pulled in the parking lot and there are people in the spot next to me having sex
..like its some secluded space in the middle of a mall parking lot. GHETTO

and karonica youre right, i just cant imagine even setting foot in that bridge, it probably reeks of piss *i hate this word, but it fits for what i envision when i think of it, sorry if its vulgar*.

beltway plaza is ghetto too, its like a watered down PG

if youre from around here then you might not think its ghetto, but i certainly do

at the 3 dollar store. I love the One Price Store, but not that one. The one around my way sells some nice stuff.

I don't care to be around the people in PG mall. I know, I'm there to shop, but it is quite nerve-wrecking when you got about 20 guys sitting on a bench staring at you when you walk by and then saying little stuff to each other. I'm amazed at anyone who has tolerance for that, more or less the people that actually like it. I'm not a fan of that type of environment.

I did finally get my Surge a coupla days ago in Laurel. Now I have a whole list of other places to go spend my $$! Thanks Ya'll!

About the ghetto thing..........
I use to live in PG and now I live in Montgomery. Ghetto has little to do with "where" you live/work/shop. It has to do with attitude. PG Mall sits adjacent to University Park. How many black folks live there? 2?
I know sistas and brothas who live in very upscale communities. And the truth is, they give credence to the saying that you can take em outta the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of them.
We've got enough stereotypes from other "cultures." Do we have to add to the madness..........

I don't frequent PG but I've never seen the things you've seen at PG mall, however, I go during day hours when school is in session and the mall is pretty bare. As far as the store where cloths are around $3 dollars--never been in it. These reasons may attribute to my perception. If you haven't already, you should check out the Georgetown Park Mall--I love it there!

Half the people who hang in PG *note, I didn't say "shop", I said "hang"* are not from upscale communities. If so, they'd probably be hanging out at Tyson's Corner. JMHO

i dont know anything about the demographics around here, i just go to school here, but there are plenty of black people in PG plaza. so even if its not where, then it most certainly is the attitude of the blk people walking around there. its just not a nice atmosphere

That is a beautiful mall...but hardly no good stores.
Well, not the ones I like anyway, which is why I visit PG sometimes. And yes, it is much better to go during the quiet day. I do not go there on Saturdays. Did it once, but care not to anymore.

Yes Karonica, it is a BEAUTIFUL mall, my favorite. Girl, they have all the stores I LOVE! Arden B, Ann Taylor, Express, Fornash Designs, H & M, and Giotto. Ooooh, and not to mention the largest BEBE on the east coast second to the one on 5th ave of New York across the street. I believe you can purchase hair supplies at their Trade Secret also.

I like those little waterfalls things they have. It's really serene for a mall. My mother took me in there one time, but got upset thinking she was going to find stores like the One Price Store in there.

And yep, they sure do have a Trade Secret. But they charge 75 for a perm though.

Do you like Georgetown's H&M better than the one at Metro Center? I've never been to Georgetown's H&M, but I just love Georgetown altogether.

Karonica, I've never gotten a perm from Trade Secret. Did they at least do a good job with the relaxer? I don't remember much about the store but do they carry good hair products?

I never went. I called and asked on the phone.
It didn't include all styles either or a trim, I don't think. All that daggon money. That pisses me off, I'm not kidding.
