What dominican products do you recommend?

I've never used any dominican products. I have no clue where to start . . . I need to strengthen my hair and, of course, grow it. What products do you recommend?

Also, is getting a blowout silly if I'm going to be exercising and "sweating out" the straightness shortly after getting the blowout?

I use all dominican conditioners on my hair, and i must say it is the bomb!! try emergencia for a really good deep treatment for damanged hair, 10 en 1 is a great deep conditioner and the staple is silicon mix, it makes my hair so soft and detangling is a breeze!

for a special treat for my hair i use about 5 dominican conditioners and mix them together. emergencia, 10 en 1, silicon mix, capilo cinnamon and bano de crema protenia de leche (milk protein) mix them together and sit under a conditioner cap for about 30 mins. rinse and my hair stays soft for days!

I really like Silicon Mix and Salerm 21 leave in. I also love the Emergencia for a deep conditioning treatment. :yep:

I love Silicon Mix and Lacio Lacio.

Has anyone used 11 en 1? I just bought this one but haven't used it yet. It smells yummy.

I recommend Capilo's Miel y leche and co-sign with the other ladies for Emergencia. Miel y Leche detangled my hair better than Silicon Mix (and trust me, I was a die-hard fan of Silicon Mix). Emergencia not only detangled my hair, but made it stronger, softer, and helped my hair retain moisture longer, so I didn't have to moisturize my hair as often when I started using this.

Is the Collagen & Placenta moisturizing or did you follow it with another conditioner? I heard it was great for shedding, breakage and to stimulate growth.

I love the bolded one and agree that it is Awesome! :yep:

I'd also highly recommend the Alter Ego Coconut Mask Conditioner and the Nacidit Avocado rinse.
I swear, I truly love Aveda but they don't have a great DC so I was always on the lookout for one. I used Terax for a long time (and still do and LOVE IT too) but still wanted some alternatives. Gave the Dominican condishs a try and was wowed at first use! I will always have the two I mentioned above on hand. I originally ordered the small Alter Ego to try it out and have recently ordered two of the largest jars so that I would have a lot of it on hand for a while! They leave my hair so soft, shiny and WELL moisturized.....

i really like Nacidit. I clarified my hair with suave daily clarifier. I don't think i'll EVER do that again... my hair went NUTS and was very tangled. It stuck to itself in pieces the size of hot dogs. So i started freaking out and put some Nacidit on it and left it in no longer than 5 min. I rinsed my hair out and as the water was running over it it just let go! it was so much easier to manage and not tangled!

It was not drying or 'hardening to my hair. I tried not to overdo it and sat under the dryer 20 minutes too. It's a staple for me atlease 1x per week! :yep:

I LOVE Silicon Mix!! It is an excellent DC and I have used it as a prepoo also, mixed with oils and/or Silk Peptide Powder, Marine Collagen, Oat Protein. It's great. It has nice slip, too, for stretch time.

I also like Lacio Lacio, La Bomba treatment, Miss Keys 10 en 1, and Emergencia. All great products.

ITA I've tried all of these and I like them too...Salerm 21 is also a good protein
treatment to leave in when I use it with Lacio Lacio for moisture

I love Emergencia! Not all the time but when my hair needs some good detangling.

I also been using this stuff called "Halka". My hair loves it. I use the red one. I asked my BSS girl, "what is that?" She said, "it's like grease Mami." Think like a dixie peach/bergomont kinda thing. I use it when I am wearing my hair back, a sealer...i like it! :yep:

First lemme say this is a great thread!

For moisture, really like Tropical aloe vera moisturizing treatment, my hair is like butter cream after :love3:

and Miss Key 10 en 1 conditioner is also very good but it seems to REALLY work with dry hair, or if I poo first, I try to squeeze as much water out as I can. These conditioners are really helping with my new growth KEEP THOSE BAD BOYS DOWN!! :whip:

I recently fell in love with a pre-poo treatment called Apretadora. Its green and has rosemary and cinnamon to help with shedding.

I cannot tell if its affecting shedding, but its VERY effective in softening hair and new growth! :up:

Queeny, no whale sperm in the procuct. Just whale fat:wink2:

Okay thanks for letting me know. I have been out of the loop because of my pjism but I happened across one website to drool over some products and saw that and was like "what the heck?"!!! Reminds me I got some conditioner Labett sent me once. I may try it tonight and give my review. Q

I like the dominican products too!
I use Silicon Mix like its nobodys business but I think I am going to try the Nacidit and the Alter Ego and the Salerm it sounds great.

I found that I really really like Henna Queen. So far, I have used the Whale Sperm Conditioner and I love it! I keep saying that I am going to try the other Henna Queen conditioners but I don't want to give up my whale sperm... :nono:

I love salerm wheat germ mask, it's my all time favorite dom product.

I've used salerm 21 leave-in for years and years ... love it. I also like Nacidit. I just started using it a few weeks ago. I also just stared using Silicon Mix. It made my hair very smooth and soft, but it started to feel hard after 3 or 4 uses. I don't know if it was the cones or the protein, but now I limit its use. I don't like the Silicon Mix leave-in at all. :nono:
