I have been using it since Dec. I spray it on my scalp every nite and wash my hair once a week or when needed. I dont have a problem with the company being Asian owned. I think that unless u use all-natural products all the time u really dont know what chemicals you are getting in shamps, conds, oils, & hairdressings(and u can still have an allergic reaction to all natural ingriedients!)

I have been using surge consistenly every night, but now i've got this crazy itching. I checked my scalp to see if I had an reaction, but my scalp looked normal. Has anybody else experienced this? And do you know how to combat it?

I used Surge twice a day for a month, washed weekly, and rarely sealed it with anything. I only sprayed it on my scalp and I had not problems at all.

I just understand why Surge is being labled such a "evil" product now. That ingredient that everyone is talking about now is alot of different products that we use for our hair (both rinse out, and leave in).
Everything doesn't work for everyone and if it doesn't work for you then just move on to the next thing.
I was so annoyed when LUST was the rule on the board for a while cause that mess jacked up my hair but hey it worked for other - good for them - but I didn't speak out against the product, why should I???

Anyways I have been surging for about 3 months now and the growth is wonderful and so is the softness and strength. I don't use surge twice a day cause I just figured from the beginging that it would be too much for my hair. I only spray once a day and every once in a while I take a couple of days off. Surge is a wonderful product in my book and I will continue to use it.

I was thinking the same thing. I agree with another member that said we should do a patch test. I know I don't tend to do this.

I started using Surge Jan 5th. I spray 2x a day on my scalp and I follow up with either shea butter on woojee cream on my hair. I do a conditioner wash once a week and a shampoo once a week. It's a bit early to tell progress but I've had no issues thus far.
I'm sorry others have had problems but that's not enough to make me stop using it. I don't always like the things that work for other people either.

I've been using Surge about once a day for a month. I'm natural and wear flat twists most of the time. Surge has done MARVELOUS things for my edges. They were very sparse. And now I've got almost full coverage. I spray lightly with Surge and wait a few minutes. Then I follow up with oil on my scalp. No daily washes, nothing special at all.

I don't give a rats behind who makes it. They can be Asian or Martian. I gots me some edges and I'm hooked!

I usually apply surge with my fingertips- I have no problems. I think it also depends on how much you are putting on your scalp at once..it might be too much.

I don't think that the race of the person making products matters, most of the products y'all use are made by white-owned companies eg Loreal, Alberto-Culver (motions), Colomer (CON) etc.

But it is being advertised to blacks. Just look at their website. and the picture on it.

That really doesn't mean anything. I've seen Mane n' tail advertised in black mags and also in American cosmo using white models. It's the same with the cocoa butter ads I've seen also.

Another Surge question:
I bought it but have not used it after readin all the stuff about burning scalps. I want to use it just on my hair, for moisture and strength, avoiding the scalp. Has anyone experienced any problems using it that way?

I just squirt it directly on my scalp with no problems, I don't supplement that with a moisturizer on my scalp either

I'm glad for everyone who has not experienced any problems with Surge. I didn't experience problems either, but I'm going back to my basic routine which I know works for me. I apologize if I offended anyone by mentioning the racial background of the owners of the company. I'm happy for any sister who is experiencing growth and healthy hair and who is happy with it! I want to see all of us with strong, healthy hair and the ability to reach any length we desire. I'd also like to us making our own companies richer and thereby improving our collective economic condition. Perhaps that talk is best suited for the "off-discussion" board. But congratulations to all of you who are enjoying the product, and a special congrats to the person who now has "some edges"!!! I know you are delighted with Surge and if I were you I would be to! I also you're right - it really depends on the person. Some people are just plain allergy sensitive and some aren't. Thanks!

I have been using Surge since Nov 03. I use it sparingly on my scalp only and seal it with S-curl prob about 1x day. I also have not experienced any problems with Surge but I am getting a little worried after hearing all the horror stories.

How long do you think it would take to experience adverse effects?
