I'm sooo annoyed that there isn't a Dominican Salon in my area. I'm thisclose to rolling up in the Latin Quarters clubs/restaurants and interrogating the Dominicans about whose basement they are visiting to get their hair done :lachen:

If you have pulled off the blowout at HOME, post your tips!

Please, PLEASE!

I mastered this back in high school. I suggest making sure your rollers are tight and that your ends are on the rollers securely and straight. Once your hair is dried I using a little more serum or leave in on the roots and blowing the roots out twisting your wrist with a round brush making sure that the brush has a good grip on your hair and aim the blowdryer at the roots making sure the hair is straightening out according to how u like it. A good leave in is key to a successful blowout.

I know this has been discussed before (and maybe someone can bump this for me) but which brand of hairfryer should I try?

Macherieamour has a great tutorial on her website that explains how to do this yourself at home. The only downside is that an at home blowdryer probably will not be as hot as one found in the dominican salon!

Thanks Miss Fallon & cocoberry. I'll check it out Macherieamour's tutorial. Will using Dominican products yield better results?

Back when I was relaxed I use to achieve a domincan blowout by using a 2800 watt dryer, cause the 1875 watt dryers were not cutting it. moreover, the Domincan salons used 2800 and even higher sometimes. The key thing that did it for me though was .....my Wigo brush...this isn't it...but it looked like this: Ceramics Ceramic Straightening Brush

It clamps down on the hair at the roots and you gently pull it so that the roots are exposed and use the blowdryer to straighten the roots. There are holes in this brush where the bristles are.

I only used this for the roots. I would not suggest running it through the entire lengt of the hair. I don't know if it's important that it have boar's bristle. While trying to get an image...I found another one:

Denman Thermo
Straightening Brush

(Model D79)

The fastest way to
blow-dry hair
