Okay, I honestly STILL cannot understand this Protein vs. Moisture thingamajig! So hopefully you lovely ladies can "dumb" it down for me!

Here goes: I am currently using ORS REPLENSHING PAK CONDISH....sometimes I mix it with PANTENE R&N MASK....

Is this PROTEIN or MOISTURE???

And if it's Protein, can u please suggest a nice moisturizing ONLY condish?? Thanks in advance! :spinning:

ITA as far as I know the ORS is a light protein and I have no idea about the Pantene

That's sad...this whole time I was thinking ORS Replenishing pak was a moisture treatment. In fact, I used it after I put that hard Aphogee treatment in my hair to put "moisture" back in my hair

ORS has light proteins but it states that it restores moisture and helps rebuild hair. The first 2 ingredients are water and Soybean followed by Glycerine and Olive oil. Those are moisturizing elements primarily. Pantene is a moisturizer with cones so it fill in gaps in your natural hair. Nothing in the label looks like a protein. HTH

I think the ORS Replenishing is used as a moisturizing conditioner. It is considered a light protein but I use it for moisture. I think many of the people that use it, use it for it's moisturizing properties.

I think Miss Keys 10 en 1 is a moisturizing conditioner if you wanted a different one. Though, one of the ingredients is wheat protein. I just purchased it and plan to use it as a moisturizing con as well.

If it makes you nervous that is has a light protein, perhaps you can add some oil to boost its moisturizing properties.

My hair doesn't need a lot of protein and I use the ORS Replenishing w/no problems.

See gurl I'm there with you...the one time I used it I used it as a light protein, so if you're sad I am too :look:. It definitley made my hair feel stronger. But looking at the other responses I stand corrected. That's what we're here for though to learn from eachother.

Girl I didn't know what it was for except it was getting rave reviews! I'm just hoping with this thread, myself and other ladies can figure this whole Protein/Moisture Balance out...then maybe our hair will thrive more! Wishful thinking! :drunk:

You should do a search on it. There have been numerous threads on this that give a lot of good info on protein/moisture balance. I believe ORS is a very light protein with significant moisturizing properties. I love it and don't follow it up with an extra moisturizing conditioner. Has great slip, too!!

Ditto- I love the ORS but I do use it primarily for moisture. My hair always feels wonderful after using it. I think it has a great balance of moisture and protein and kinda takes the guesswork out of the p/m balance for me.

I agree. I use ors as a moisturizing conditoner. The protein in does help rebuild hair and help your hair retain moisture. It has all those good oils in it and makes my hair feel like silk.

The pantene is moisturizing. At one point, this was the only conditioner I used and my protein moisture balance was on point.
