The challenge is going well for me. I have been consistently wearing protective styles and deep conditioning.

Yup same here and I leave my twists in for 30+ days. Today is clarify/dc/retwist day. I condish wash weekly, and do this normally. I guess that it hasn't changed as far as my routine, but I am being more loving to my tresses over all. :)

Things are going great! I'm riding the Ayurveda wave...and I aint gettin' off. I've been airdrying and wearing my hair up, and this routine will be going on till I get kinky twists in April, God willing.

But I think the Ayurveda stuff is making my hair grow faster cuz I never have this much new growth just 6 weeks-post relaxer. So I might break down and get kinky twists in March

 kiesh, feel me in! what exactly are you doing?

I joined late but I already used my pass:sad: but I joined the c&g braid challenge as well so completing all 4 sessions should be a breeze :afro:

I wish I could join but don't think I have enough hair LOL I can't do any protective styling just yet, at least I don't think so. I can't do anything but some WnG's right now.

Well im having it easy at the moment because im still in my braids which means i've left my hair alone, just washing and dcing.

I can't wait to take them out now because they're looking a lil rough, i doubt its down to growth tho :( i'll see in a matter of weeks when i take time off work then my fingers are gonna be all up in my hair :look:

It's easy as pie. I'm not even tempted to trim or use heat. I'm protective styling with hats lined in satin and wigs right now. I wash or co wash daily which is fun. And it already seems like I'm progressing. (I can see the difference when I wash, how long my hair is). I haven't used a pass yet, but I'm thinking about using it for Valentine's Day. Other than that, this is fun fun fun!

things are going good so far. my regi is still a lil' rocky. i'm trying to adjust to the extreme cold weather and hard water. so far i co-wash Mon & Wed; pre-poo, poo, & DC on Friday; and daily moisture and massages. i'm just glad that i can at least pick my hair up.

Greetings ladies

I am so glad I joined this bootcamp! I finally took pics the other day of my twists and realized my hairdresser has my starting pic from New Year's Eve! However, it isn't focused on my hair, so I will use the ones I just took. I am abiding by all of the rules! Now that I feel like I musta smoked a joint (never actually have, but if you saw the pimp chronicles, you feel me) and just have that f-it attitude about the style of my hair, it's easy to just do me and wear my own hair all of the time. No more hiding under fake hair. Kinda freeing, it took a loooong time. I haven't done this consistently in twenty years! I will not use a pass until my birthday which isn't until September and am looking forward to the workshops from the convention. I am hoping to get a good regimen with the help of the gurus and maybe a rollerset. (Free lodging at my house for the night if you can gingerly hook a sista up!)

Still figuring things out, like when I was rinsing with the Indian Powders daily, my twists didn't look so great, but is my growth suffering because I only wash and dc every two weeks. It would be great if I got the same amount of growth while just using shikakai oil (added menthol flakes) in the morning and the essential oil blend every night and then 'scritiching' with one of those thick, clear plastic forks (I think that idea came from NappyWomyn - thanks). But if I am sacrificing growth for style, then you know I am going for growth!

I look at it this way, 70% of all African-American women are single anyway, so what difference does it make if my twists are frizzy or not. Looking fly has gotten me nothing but the life of a spinster!

Oh, I digress! Anyway, I also need to figure out this whole porous issue. Products tend to just sit on my scalp and hair, so I figured if I used the porosity control line that it would help. Not so much, but I only used step 1 and 2 the other day for my bi-monthly w/dc. Only problem is now, I don't even feel the tingle from the menthol. :ohwell:

After so many years of being on these hair boards, you'd think I'd be rapunzel by now, or at least have a holy grail! One day......

Anyway, I need to visit MsPortugal so we can spend time together and she can update my fotki! :wink2: Good luck everyone!

I'm doing great as well. I have continued to wash approximately once a week with deep conditioning each time.

For one week I wore my WNGs and wondered if that was considered a protective style... but I see someone else has, and that was all I needed. It was in a puff, off my shoulders so...

Anyway I will use my first pass in this session for Valentine's Day and get a blowout to see my progress. I'll tell the girl that I do not want a trim. I've never used her before, so I'm not really sure if I will do it. Maybe I'll do it myself. She's Dominican but that doesn't necessarily mean that she can do some hair. She wants to get her hands in my thickness. I'm tempted too but I'll have to think about it. When i was relaxed, the dominicans that did my doobies, don't work on virgin hair. Sooooo..

Anyway, good luck ladies

Happy hair growing

it's been a little rough for me guys:look: I flat ironed only once and my stylist keeps saying " you don't never get your hair done any more"

If I tell her what i am doing she will think I'm crazy. But overall i am hanging in there

this is my DEC air dry pic

And this is my end Jan air dry pic

a little something something...but we'll see what's really when I relax March 1st

Very nice girlie!!! Hair just drifting over your shoulders and all, grow on girl!!!

So far, so good! I did better in January than I thought I would. I'm trying to perfect my braidouts for Spring. I bought some cute "hair candy" yesterday to experiment with cute buns so I can change from my curly pony. I have used my one pass, I couldn't help getting my hair flat ironed when I got my relaxer. I'm so length obsessed!!!:yep::yep:

But, that's it. Its back to protective styling and experimenting with updo's. See you at Check-In #2!!

Bootcamp has been great for me, I don't know why I didn't do this sooner!

Now that I have my Pibbs, I'm rollersetting regularly and continuing my protective styles. I used my pass this session for a relaxer, and so I'll be ready for one in the early part of the next bootcamp session. The only thing that's kinda difficult is the no heat on the NG, so when its really bad I have to co-wash everyday, its the only way to keep it moisturized and under control.

I'm doing pretty good! I'm 10 weeks post and my new growth is unbelievable. Not much breakage since I've been using a henna gloss and DCing. I'm not manipulating as much at all (quick wrap and a do' rag or wig cap. I'm hoping for BSL later this year. yay.

It's been going pretty good for me. I haven't used a pass so far. Since I've been deep conditioning all the time, my hair is really soft. Then after I airdry and moisturize, it isn't that dry anymore. I love it! I hate that my hair still kind of sheds and breaks (my ends shed horribly, I can just run my hand over my ponytail, and some hair will come off on my hand), but I am working on that.

Okay, either I am losing my mind, or my post didn't save. I could have sworn I already typed this...anywhoo...so far so good. I haven't used my pass yet. I am enjoying this low maintenance protective styling too much. :)

Doing pretty good. Still in my twist it's been about a month (pic in avatar) hoping they can last another month, but doubt it.

It's been going well and I have been tracking my progress through my LHCF journal. I am happy with my maintenance and progress thus far and I still have not gotten a touch up. Trying to push it until June 30.

I just need to stop watching my hair....I feel like it's never going to grow!! I'm taking progress pics every week! loool

I think it maybe grew a little but not much!! As far as my regimen I'm doing great. I love my Keracare products. I'm mostly doing co washes but when I do Shampoo that Detangling shampoo makes combing a breeze!! I love my rollersets but I wish I could fidn some protective styles I could do with my real hair. I'ma try to see if I can learn how to do a nice bun

Going well. I recently took out my braids, rocked a braidout, and could see growth already! I'm looking forward to our upcoming reveal date!

Refraining from cutting my ends has been hard. Real hard. :look:

Great! I just wanna trim a little more than just dusting, but I'm not ready to do a 10-day juice fast, so I'll still hang in there!!!

Here's my progress from December to Jan. Damage is growing out and I'm dusting it off. I gained a few pounds over the holidays, and I'm running them off, too, so Feb.'s update should show less meat on the fatback!!! LOL BTW, I now understand that all bras are not the same place on me, so I'll choose the lowest one for my BSL tracking!

ETA: I've chosen to rollerset until my NG gets out of hand, and I wear my hair in a bun or pincurls (while at home). Still co-washing and DCing at least 2 times per week.

I had to use an emergency pass (we get one each session, right???) for Valentine's Day! Here's a pic:
