ORS REPLEN PAK VS ORS REPLEN IN BOTTLE

Is it just me, but I read here on the forum that it was available in the bottle at Sallys. So I ran out the past weekend and bought the ORS Replenishing Conditioner in the bottle...and when I put it on my hair it was different. I usually buy one of those paks for my entire head. But something was not right with the conditioner. I didn't have any single paks lying around the house to compare the ingredients. So, I ended up using entirely too much in the bottle AND I had to add my own EVOO to it to give my hair that immediate slip.

It seems as soon as I put the single pack on my hair, it INSTANTLY began detangling. But when I slapped the bottle version on..it just sat on top of my hair, which caused me to use more product. Did anyone else notice a difference?

I've also used both and I really like both but I thought it was just me in thinking they give a different result. For me though the one in the bottle was slightly better for me. They even feel different to me. There must be a difference in the ingredients but I've used all my paks so I can't compare.

Doing the BUMP! :bump::bump:I just made a note to look for this but if it doesn't work the same as the paks; me don't want it. Nope, sure don't! Let us know ladies! Thanks in advance!

I was wondering since the bottle is larger, did they skimp on the ingredients. You know, maybe they do not put much of the olive oil in the larger bottle because of costs. I dunno. I think I'll visit the BSS this weekend and buy a single pack and compare. Unless, someone on here has both and can take a look..

It worked the same for me. The formula in the ORS pak has been changed before though. Maybe you were using the original formula before?

You know, that may be true. I recently (last two months) discovered this product, (I've always used their Hair Mayo for deep conditioning)..so I'm not familiar with the previous version.
But the packs I'd been was using were the lastest version (I assume) because the BSS is always running out and restocking it....

I got the bottle last month, and I noticed it didn't have that same "slip" but I thought it was just me.

Ok..Ok..I'm not alone and I see that you are relaxed as well. Because I was thinking maybe bc I'm natural and that was why I was experiencing a difference. It's good to see that it doesn't matter in this case. Thanks!

I have both and compared the ingredients. They are exactly the same but I did notice the packs did give more slip. But too expensive to be buying the packs so I just added olive oil to the bottle. works for me!

Thanks for checking! So they contain the same ingredients, huh? Very interesting, because the bottle version reacts different on my hair. I'm going to try a fresh shampoo with CON and then apply it. I usually apply baking soda to my roots to clarify and then apply the pack to the rest of my hair. So after I do a complete wash and apply the bottle version if it reacts the same then I'll apply EVOO in the bottle. I just feel like I'm using up my EVOO (which aint cheap) to get the results the pack immediately gave. I dunno:ohwell:

Well they both work the same to me, but then again, my hair is really short, so maybe that's not much to go by. But I did notice one thing about the bottled version. Have you ever noticed when you open up a pak of it, that citrusy smells sort of like jumps out at you? Well with the bottled one, it doesn't do that, not to my nose at least LOL. But I have both the pak and the bottle here, and yes they both have the same ingredients listed on both. But I'm still thinking something along the lines of the smell. It's stronger in the pak than in the bottle, IDK, maybe it's just me.

I haven't experienced any difference. I had used the ORS paks for two months (March & April 07) and have been using the ORS in the bottle ever since with no change in how my hair felt or responded to the product.

I thought that the pak had more of a citrusy smell, but I didn't know if it was just my imagination.

I compared my bottle to my pak - I saw that they had the same ingredients listed in the same order.

OK ladies thanks for responding..I noticed a few felt it was the same and a few noticed a difference. The smell in the bottle definitely didnt jump out at me like the pak..oh well.
I guess I'll have to do a complete wash and then try it on fresh hair to really know......But my hair could be dirty, oily, and full of products but when I add the pak on there, it detangles in an INSTANT....the bottle just didn't do that!:nono:

When I first bought the bottle I was concerned that the formula might be different but after using it I felt that it was the same right down to the citrus aroma.

I The bottle has worked the same way the packets worked for me.

You know I sometimes have the same issue w/ con and oil moisturizer...sometimes they be too watery or to thick or even smell a lil off.....It could just be a bad bottle.... when the bottles are manufactored not all 100% of them are going to be EXACTLY right w/ ingredients and amounts on some ingredients may be off...or it could be the weather when the product is shipped to the BSS....Who knows :spinning:..so Dont give up on the bottle the next one will be right...hopefully.

How much do the packs usually cost you? I've paid $1.50 but found them at CVS the other day for $1.39. Just curious...

I use the one in the bottle because it's cheaper and easier than buying all those paks and it's been working for me.

They are also sold at Dollar General and Family Dollar. I believe FD was 99 cents.

I haven't noticed a difference in either one. They work the same for me!:look:

I never used the pack but I love the bottle! I discovered it by accident a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't sure whether or not it was the same as the paks but it is lovely...especially when you add extra EVOO to your hair.

Oh boy, my hair has never felt like that!

Overall, I like both but I think that the bottle has just a slightly looser consistency. They also smell different to me...the pack smells orangy but the bottle smells lemony...not sure what's up with that.

Maybe it's like the Keracare Humecto in the bottle vs. the tub? Everyone agrees that Humecto in the tub is better. In the case of the Replenish that would be a shame...who wants to keep buying those little packs?

I haven't noticed a difference in my hair when using one or the other.

Perhaps you should try clarifying. If you're using a heavy poo like CON which causes build-up, you probably need to clarify and see if that helps.

This is a theory, because I have not used the bottle. I was thinking as I have been reading that the packs ingredients may be more concentrated than the bottle... they have the same ingredients over all but in different ratios. The packs have less filler and more of the conditoning ingredients, hence the stronger smell of the packs vs the bottle and the better slip / benefits.

I don't know, the ingredients are listed in the same order on the packs and on the bottle. Ingredients are always listed from highest quantity to least. I just finally found the bottle yesterday and will be trying it tonight. I love the packs.

Wow I thought it was just me, my bottle wasn't really doing for me what my pak was. Next time I wash, I'm going to buy the pak and let you know. Thanks!
