OK LADIES!

I am starting this challenge on behalf of Macherieamour. She has started a 4 month (May through June) challenge of no heat.

Here is the Info from her site:
http://healthytextures.typepad.com/my_journey_to_healthy_hai/2008/04/blowin-in-the-w.html#comments
http://healthytextures.typepad.com/my_journey_to_healthy_hai/2008/05/blowin-in-the-1.html

I love my Pibbs but sitting under the dryer during the summer is BRUTAL. So, this summer, Id like to do all "no heat" styles letting my hair air dry or dry overnight! Who is with me???
Great summer style suggestions:

-Braid outs (single braids, pokahontas braids, cornrows and french braids)
-Twist outs (singles or "cornroll style)
-Professional Braids (done by a braider)
-Bantu Knots
-Airdry loose and "caruso rollers" for waves - Perhaps an exception for steam heat??
- Any other thoughts??

GET TOGETHER YOUR FUN, SUMMER STYLES!

The Challenge would be from May to August :)

Let's say you have three passes for special events!
If you'd like to join, just list your "plan of action". What styles will you use? What products? What questions do you need answered?
For Inspiration :)

MAKE SURE YOU CHECK IN TO LET US KNOW HOW EVERYTHING IS GOING!

Here's My Regimen:
Co-Wash Everyday
OCT
Bun
Maybe a Weave if I'm feeling Saucy!
Simple!

I'm in. I'm already in a "personal" challenge of no heat until October/November. I've been heatless since December 2007. It's a breeze baby! Especially after I get my hair braided or twisted next month! WE CAN DO IT!

I am going to try braid outs and bantu knots. I've never done them. I have thick and big hair and I am really small so I am afraid it will look really big when I take it out.

YOU NEED TO STOP! Like you have problem hair! I think I'll get twisted or braided up too as early as June 1st and don't even look at my hair until the NEW YEAR!!! I mean that too!

Add me to the list. I don't use heat anyway so I'm in. Since I have become a DIYer I didn't even use heat the last time I relaxed. This is great!

I will DC every 3 days and cw after dc with Keracare Humecto.
I will rinse with water every day because of work outs.
I will add conditioner, moisturizers and seal after every cw/rinse and pin up, tie with satin scarf and airdry.

YAY! Glad to see more people joining up! Thanks pretty :)

Yeh, Im tired of fighting with my SO who claims the Pibbs turns our apt into an oven. I...just..cant...do..it this summer. Plus, the warm summer heat drying my hair will be awesome.

I posted these pics on my blog and ning site but here is what my hair looks like airdried out in the open, lol. Sorry the pics are so big :ohwell:

I know, right?!

Count me in. I really only straighten my hair to check the length and since I cut it, length checking has been too depressing. :(
I'll just continue as usual (wash n go) and skip my monthly length checks.

I was inspired by Isis and I'm already on my 2nd month of no heat (except bangs).

Machie, your no heat style looks beautiful

I've been doing conditioner washes with olive or caster oil. Sometimes both and my hair is doing very well. Lately, it's been very soft and not as tangly :)

Count me in. I know I can go 4+ months without heat esp. since summer is approaching and I don't straighten my hair during this time anyway.
I will be:

Cowashing once a week
Single twisting my hair, wearing a twist-out once or twice weekly for a fuller look.

Count me in - after next weekend.

Yuppie.

Cantu works great for moisture - just don't use other products with it.

I'm in. I need more ideas for ways to wear my 4b hair. I'm all natural and lately my favorite style is the mega bun. A style I learned from a fellow LHCF lady. Anybody have any other unique ideas? And maybe a few pictures?
