I can join you now :grin:

but why are you lonely? I see the relaxer bug biting quite a few naturals lately, myself included.

lol, Righ huuuurrr! Yeah I was like transitioning and stuff, but um, I'm not anymore... Long story. But not really... Just not my time just yet, and I've been natural before... Never before have I had truly healthy relaxed hair, so I want to enjoy this a wee bit more.

Plus I love to wear my hair straight and blowing in the wind. If I want textured styles, I hang out with my braidouts/twistouts/bantu knots. Best of both worlds, sorta...:look:

Well, I sometimes look at my relaxed head pictures and superimpose those thoughts over my current reality. Wait, wait, ok... I’m relaxed now, so what you want to talk about?

Sleep deprivation is a b#$%^. :spinning:

I don't really want to talk about anything honestly. I just wanted to give a shout out to all the relaxed heads that you are not alone. And then give them a space to shout out to other relaxed heads, lol!

It's just funny some days when you click on the board so much of the front page is "Ooh, look I just BCed!" or "How do I define my curls" or "Best products for naturals" or whatever

I respect that and honestly sometimes I feel the pressure. But then sometimes I wonder, is being relaxed going out of style or something?

No for real, I just wanted some ladies to come up in here and...

Say it loud:

"I'm relaxed and I'm proud!"

That's a great idea and you should def. start one :yep: I can only imagine it's probably the same type of shock that you feel when you BC...it's a whole diff. texture that you don't know how to deal with!

You better start that thread quick before someone jumps the gun on ya :lachen:

I thought about starting one, but I'm so lazy, I'll end up making the thread and then never post in it again:lachen:

:bighug: How is everybody doin today?

I'm straight. I'm about to pre-prep my hair today for my relaxer that will take place either this coming Friday or Saturday. I have a whole lotta new growth.

I'm trying something different, I've been studying up on tweaking my relaxer regimen b/c my goal is no burns. I'm trying to get more into the science of relaxing and relaxed hair so I can really keep my hair in optimal condition.

My relaxed hair is my hobby and it's fun for me to see how long I can get it :yep:

I'll join you! I just relaxed after almost 4 years of naturalness...so, about that neutralizing shampoo... :lachen::lachen::lachen:

About it ... if you ladies let someone else relax you make sure you go home and neutralize again. I got my hair done yesterday and I took in Aphogee 2 minute reconstructor for her to use post shampoo and pre conditioner. Of course she conveniently forgot to use it :ohwell: So I get home and jump in the shower after I came home from running some errands. I decided to use my Aphogee 2 minute (which I love by the way) but decided to neautralize again "just for good measure." Do you know that woman never properly neutralized me? She only lathered three times for about 8 minutes total. My lather was pink!!! This just underscores that you have to be careful who you go to if you can't do it yourself. I was so mad. And don't get me started on her overlapping. And how she said with my texture (4zzzz) I need to relax every 4 weeks!! :nono: I was like "um-kay ... whatever you say." I musta looked dumb to her, because I am not letting her near my hair again, with her non-neutralizing-overlapping-like-it's-necessary-to-breathe self. I need to find a good Toronto stylist who is into good hair practices, pronto.

I'm relaxed! I have toyed with the idea of going natural but I love my relaxed hair and the ease of taking care of it.

Ajoyfulljoy- you may want to put a base(vaseline or a really thick conditioner) on your scalp right before relaxer application to avoid scalp burns or to lessen it. Helps with allowing the relaxer to sit on the hair a bit longer.

Don't do it! I mean, even the "relaxer people" who have a vested interest in you (or a stylist) buying a relaxer as much as possible say to wait 6 weeks at least. I am a 9 week at a time stretcher, 4 weeks is just craziness! Your hair is nice and thick by the way. Happy hair growing!

there's no way he's seeing me in 4 weeks if at all again. I just needed him to relax the natural hair because it was too thick for me to handle. When I was relaxed before I wouldn't get a retouch in under 8 weeks.....now way I'm gonna start that 4 week thing now.
