Here is the original recipe and directions. If you don't have the supplies you can order them online.

supplies
one glass jar
6oz of jojoba oil or macadamia nut oil
2oz aloe vera juice/gel
2 tblsp of horsetail herbs
plastic squirt bottle (like the one for hair dye)

1. place oil and herbs in a the jar
2. place jar in a pot of boiling water let the oil heat up
3. remove jar from water and place the top on it let this sit for three days so the herb can infuse with the oil
4. strain oil in to squirt bottle
5. pour in 2oz of aloe
6. shake well and your ready to go

with this mix you will oil you SCALP (after i brush it through my hair) if you use Jojoba you may have to reapply every two day because you scalp will absorb the oil completely. with the mac oil you will reapply it once a week depending on how fast your scalp absorbs the oil.
continue to wash and condition you hair as usual just dont pile on a bunch of other products if you can dont put any thing else on you SCALP you dont want to clog you pours.

sui topi have you used coconut oil when tweaking the recipe?

No, I used olive oil as a base oil instead of jojoba or macadamia nut oil. The jojoba works good, I did try it once, but it was just so expensive. I ended up doing almost 50:50 with it and olive, and then my next batch was pure olive oil. I think though since coconut oil is light and easily absorbed, it could certainly be used. Just make sure you monitor it though to see if it is performing well. You may also have a problem if it solidifies lol, but I'm sure thats nothing a run under some warm water won't fix. Even if you leave it in the shower with you while you bathe. Good luck!

Nice & Wavy, you should see the other side of the ruler lol. I decorated it with glitter and felt tip pens, it looks like its jewel encrusted  lol. (I'm such a loser lol...it started out being a bookmark, and then I couldn't find my ruler so I just drew the lines on the other side)

Good work sweetie!

I am thinking that you won't have to take your brids/twists out. Remember hair grows from the root!

Good luck! I am infusing the oil Tonight!

Justkiya- I bought the extracts instead and did the concoction and then added it to my MT. It does dry the hair out a little so although the mix is a lil watery, you may need to add a lil extra oil. I keep my mix in the fridge which also keeps the mix a lil thicker. You will also have to up your DC'ing and moisturizing.

FYI, I read through the original post (on the other site) and there was no mention of a difference between using the capsules, extract, or actual herb. Thats why I opted for the extract.

Interesting - I totally missed this earlier.

I got the herbs - didn't realize that they were measuring 8 ounces by WEIGHT and not by volume :)lachen:) so I've got - yeah, a LOT, so I hope this works, as I could use it for YEARS.

I'm currently steeping them in oil, so I'm not too worried about it making the MT mix any drier - hopefully.

I wonder if your extracts were in alcohol - that might have added to the dryness.

I had to lol, the way they were slipping....I couldn't massage anything or else they would come out un aided. I'm happier though...Although I liked having long hair again for a little while, I missed my curlies

I started my Mix last Wed and today i was just noticed that my k.twists were slipping. I only had 4.25 inches of hair so they don't have much wiggle room.

This MoeGro oil is a keeper for me.

I made mine and started using it on Monday with MT (started june 22). I can' t report any miraculous growth though. I have my braids in (as usual) and can't really tell. I'm planning on redoing my hair next weekend and I'll see. Hopefully this is what I need to finally grow some hair. :crossfingers:

I started using my mix again yesterday. I plan to use it on my scalp every other day . I did notice that I had less hair in the comb and brush than usual.

I was going to post starting pics last week but then I realized that I really needed to stop playing around and get the raggedy , damaged hair cut off my head B4 think about trying to grow anymore. That, combined with the fact that I have no idea how to post pics has delayed the process:nono:

The pics are already on my digital cam ready to go but could someone walk this computer illiterate girl throught the process please.

I get mine from a health food store nearby. If you are having too much trouble getting the ingredients, check out my fotki, not the hair album the other one. If you just want to make it yourself and experiment, I'm sure the other ladies will know some places online to get the herbs.

Glad its doing something for you lol. To upload the pics, you will have to attach your camera to your computer with the usb cord, or if you have a card reader, put your memory card in there and attatch it to the computer. Open the window where you can view whats on your camera if you don't have uploading software, drag it onto your desktop, or copy it onto it eject your camera/card reader, and then go onto a photo storage site like photobucket or fotki, and then follow their directions to upload a pic, then take the link they would give you for the pic (or, you can just right click the picture and choose copy image address. Then come on here, in your message, click on that icon that looks like a picture with mountains and the sun, paste the image URL, and then submit the reply. I hope that makes sense

I'm working on my own growth concoction too. I haven't had any results like that yet, but I hope to! I took all my pics down because they were basically deemed inadmissible because stretched hair pics aren't reliable enough  but I will take more (better) pics soon.

What does it smell like? Looks interesting!

Genius never dies!
I've added my infusion to my MT. The results are in my siggie. I've only added for the last 6 weeks or so since the challenge began. So that was back in early July. I wonder if the oils is helping to strengthen the potency of the MT. Something's working...

Mine kinda smells like...dirt LOL but it's not like you walk around smelling like a pile of dirt...it's only when I sniff the jar that I infused the oil. :ohwell:

It seems that after I mix it with the Aloe in my applicator bottle...it smells like...nothing. :spinning:

Mine smells like tea. Since I add a little peppermint, it smells like mint tea. I will have some more pictures this October because I am on the no ruler challenge and I decided to end the challenge on my nappiversary. What do you have in your mix Neith?
