I only use snap-on. I cannot figure out, for the life of me, how to secure with clips.
If one of my snap-ons feels too loose, I'll use a roller pin too.

I use both. I just tried it with clips and I loved the body it gave my hair. So clips it is for me right now.

Yea I also used to use the snap ons then I started using the long duck bill clips. Now I use those shorter clips and my rollersets are the bomb!
But if I were to wear my hair in a curlier rollerset I would use the snap ons.

I use the magnetic rollers with the clips right now and it is so hard! I think for next time, I will try the snap-on magnetic rollers. Are there any disadvantages to the snap-ons?

I use magnetic rollers and I use the longest bobby pin available. If you put two long bobby pins trust me that roller ain't going nowhere

If I am feeling lazy, snap-on. Normally I have to flat iron near the roots after to make everything look seamless and smooth.
If I want it to look flawless, not have any incongruous straighter parts, occasional bends or lumps, etc. From the snap-on piece, clips.
I think snaps are better when you are far post or natural. I can make my curls spiral perfectly like they do with the clips if I use them with very thin pieces of hair, but the amount of time that takes isn't worth it for me unless I have a lot of NG.
I prefer using half as many rollers with clips otherwise. Also, I've been switching to plastic clips since the metal ones are get hot as fire.

I use snap-on rollers because my hair is still short enough to fit on the size rollers that come in snap on sizes. Before they started making the snap on rollers in the bigger sizes, I have used the ones that need to be secured with clips (although I do not use clips, I use roller pins). I never use anything other than magnetic rollers in my hair (though when I get more length I might try the rollers for spiral curls--MIGHT).

I used the snap-ons for years until Macherie's video finally taught me how to use clips. My set is so much better with the clips.

Double-prong clips. I tried the snap-ons but I didn't feel like the rollers were tight enough.

Snap-ons, IME, leave a dent at the roots. Also, it may not pull the NG taut enough. I stopped using snap-ons for that reason.

I dry roller set my hair every nite in 6 small flexi rod rollers to get curly. You can check out my fotki if you would like to see how the curls come out.
