Krazy, I know how you feel! I got a big trim this past week (I was APL) because I had uneven, c-thru ends, and these odd layers (thanks to a wacko hairstylist from last year). I have a shoulder length blunt cut now and my ends are wonderfully thick and healthy! I know it sounds funny, but when I wear a ponytail my hair feels "heavy." I actually like it. I think it's the closest thing I'll get to a bob, though :lachen:.

Don't feel discouraged, your hair will grow in long, nice, and thick. :yep:
I had another trim earlier at the end of May (Shoulder Length) and by the end of July I was barely touching APL.
Just keep up your regimen, protect your ends, drink lots of water and take vitamins, and you'll be all right.

I'm sure I'm repeating some previously given advice, but I had your problem. I was all up on the hair board and my hair wasn't getting too much longer my tips

Roller wrap after each wash (see www.healthytextures.com for macherieamours video!!!)

Deep condition with each wash

ALWAYS use lye relaxers (this is just a personal one)

Self trim and relax unless you have a stylist you can REALLY REALLY trust and who supports your goal to have longer healthier hair!

Make sure your stylist is properly neutralizing and conditioning your hair after each relaxer. Don't let them go shopping for groceries after they put your perm in LOL (they should stay with you while your hair is processing and monitor its progress!!!)

IF THE STYLISTS HAIR LOOKS A MESS OR SHE'S ALWAYS IN A WEAVE DONT LET HER TOUCH YOUR HEAD!!!!

Don't go to salons full of hair haters!!! My new salon has a styling area that's away from the waiting area (actually on another floor so your hair is styled privately ... I really love that!)

Hope some of this helps.

Aww, I'm sorry that are so down but believe me- your hair is growing and you will reach your goal!!! Just keep it moist and challenge yourself to a protective, lo mani, weekly dc challenge and you will see the growth retention. Oh, and def. stay away from the scissors for at least 6 months!!!
You can do this, girlie!!!
