I'm a member too. I became less active since school started and have been meaning to get re-involved, until I received a PM on Healthy textures about the price today. :(

I can't afford it right now either.

$100 a year is ridiculous. If LHCF can run with $6.50 a year and have 12 times the members of HT, I don't think it is cost effective. Seriously, most people get all they can get out of the hair forum in the first 6 months. Then it is usually a peep in to see if anything new has come up. Not worth $100 a year.

so your saying she is charging 9.99 and K.i.s.s is charging also?

i just recieved an email that tracy from k.i.s.s. is willing to just have a donation button.

i just cant see myself paying for a subscribtion for healthy textures and lhcf. Something has to give

*whispers* I agree. :sekret:

However, I don't think that's true, I'm a member for free.

Well folks have to make some kind of money for the work they put in for the sites. I feel its up to the individual. Im a member but I will not be paying 100 dollars year to get the info I can get here for 6.50 a year. I can't knock her hustle though.

There is no way on earth I would pay that much to join any website. But I did just purchase the rollersetting dvd, been meaning to do that for some time. I wish her all the best though but I cannot imagine very many people consistently paying that much long-term--but you never know...

That's a lot of money. Assume that you go there with healthy NL and want healthy BSL... that may 2 or 3 years to attain. That's could be 200- 300 dollars if you get the yearly discount, more if you do it by month.

Yup. And considering how much money some people spend on products, 10$/month is really not that much.

Well I wish Macherie all the luck and sucess! Right now this is not in the budget, I feel that $100 a year is a bit much, if she offered like $50 a year I may be interested. Maybe. All the stuff that she is planning on offering is a pretty much available right here on lhcf. I hope that lhcf don't get any ideas and run up the costs to join here either. I'll stop complaining about $6.50 after seeing that she wants $100 a year. Good luck Macherie, I like your hustling spirit.

I understand her needing to charge but i have my own website that i pay only 6 dollars for a month that gives me so much bandwidth and internet space it's really ridiculous how much of it i dont use. She said she's charging because she's in the red with HT. Like what is she purchasing for that the website that's costing that much? I thought ning was free. She said something like her even getting 9,000 dollars will still have her in the red.

But i left my opinion on there and I personally could never pay that much for something that isn't real. You know something that i can't personally have in my hands. But like i said on there, no matter what 'professionals' you get to write an essay on hair, everyone's hair is different. And though i'm sure paying 100 dollars for help might make you feel like you're not in your hair care journey alone, you really always will be. Because not everything someone says that works, will work for you, nobody can put their hands in your head and examine and see what you need. The basics you can always get online for free, like rollersetting and such. I was just so disappointed because i loved how you had profiles on there and things were kind of close knit and you got to know everyone.

i guess with the economy going crazy everyone is trying to make as much money as possible. Still K.I.S.S. are going to go the donation route instead of charging monthly.
Even though i spend money in hair products, i dont buy products i dont use. I do not want to knock anyone's hustle. I just feel like its alittle too much especially with the holdays coming. If anything she could have offered a trial period so we can at least see if its worth it.
i mean we have alot of sahm, college students etc on the board that needs knowledge and cannot afford it. Even LHCF allows you access to the info, you just have to pay to have certain privledges.

everyone keeps talking about K.I.S.S. but i literally don't know what it is. Could u give me the link? And when sites i love have donations buttons i always donate like 5 dollars. I know it doesn't sound like much lol but it's free money. I mean i get no one's trying to knock her hustle, but her hustle seems to be a bad business move. I think if so many women like us are telling her, her prices are too steep don't you think she'd listen? We're not saying we won't pay at all, but 100 dollars is just seems like she's biting the hand that feeds her. But let me stop.

I am a broke college student and could never afford $100/year plus my PJism. I would love to learn how to do some of her techniques but my budget just wont let me. I am a nursing student and $100 aint even a whole book or my school scrubs. Maybe I can pay a month to month and look at all the video I can cause I can learn everything else from you lovely ladies on LHCF.
