How much would you pay for a LF unit?

I found one for $400 but I"m thinking that's a bit much for anything hair related.
What do you all think? I have the money but can't wrap my head around spending $400 for a wig

If it is from an American vendor, see if you can find the Chinese vendor who is supplying the American vendor, or a Chinese vendor who is making something comparable. I have purchased from Chinese vendors for less than $200.

Frequently the American vendor is marking up the price to cover their profit margin and a haircut. You can get the unit from a reputable Chinese vendor and go to Great Clips, Supercuts, etc and get the haircut for under $20.

Whoever is your chosen vendor, I recommend researching that vendor on BHM first. Be sure that the vendor is not currently having problems, e.g., failure to deliver; failure to deliver what you ordered, etc.

Where have you found a good reputable Chinese vendor? Somebody else told me the same thing and I still can't get ahold of somebody...a number? A name? Something!??!?!:wallbash:

400 is not bad for a lace fron. They go for as high as 1500 dollars. I bet you beyonces and tyra's cost way more than 400.

I would only pay maybe $50-$100 for two reasons:

1 - I'm not trying to put $400 on a luxury when that money can go into savings or paying a bill

2 - I am so wishy washy with my hair that I can't guarantee i'd even be wearing the wig after a few months. It would likely be tossed in a corner somewhere so this would mean huge bucks down the drain.

ETA: Obviously I can't get a lf for less than $100 but you asked how much we'd be willing to pay

I am interested in LF's but, I personally wouldn't pay that much at this pioint...I have never worn a LF b4 so there is no guarantee that I am going to like it. $400 is a big investment....I would first start off by trying out one of the cheaper ones that they carry at the beauty supply stores now or online first...I've seen some nice looking ones for under $100...

I'd just wear a regular wig. I've never seen a LF look good in IRL. Just being honest.

This is exactly what I was going to write. I wouldn't pay more than $50. They stay on better, but they still look wiggy. I can spot a LF from a mile.

Thanks for the input ladies.
Yeah, my fear is I'll pay a lot and it'll look wiggy or I won't be wearing it after a few mo nths, I'm like you Fabulousity...no way of knowing if I'll like it come next month  There are no BSS here that sell them so it would have to be online and once I get it that's that.
The celebs pay more than $400 I'm sure but it's all comparable to their paycheck. If I made millions a year I would be all over their types of wigs ;)
I'm thinking I may just wear my hair straightened for a while and see how t hat goes. Get some SMB + Matrix Sleek Look + good moisturizer = Nice looking hair ?? Hmm!

www.junpengwigs.com This is "Rex". I have purchased from him more than a few times with no problems. When you go to his website, you will see pictures of stock units that he has available. Send him an email and ask him for his stock list. It will have the sizes, colors, textures and prices.

As I suggested above, check BHM. They have an entire forum dedicated to lacefronts - vendors, application techniques, adhesives, etc.

If you are just starting out, do not pay $400 for lace front wig. A lace front wig is $150 -$200 from a Chinese vendor depending on length (plus shipping) so you can get one for $250 or maybe less.

Personally, I would not buy a real lace front wig (I have a couple of synthetic lace fronts) because I know that I am too lazy to take care of two heads of hair.

I got a LF from an AV for $360. I am happy with LF and I am glad that I bought it.....

I buy all my lacefronts directly from the Chinese vendors and never pay more than $200. To me they last longer than a weave or braids, so that price is okay with me. Now, $400??? Unless the wig can regrow some hair when that puppy starts to shed, I'ma stick with my Chinese connection...

Hey Soulie, did they bleach the knots or you have to do it yourself? BHM's search is down so it's difficult getting information right now.

Totally agree with this. There is one I'd really love to try from BellaGirl thats ~500 but I haven't worn one before so what is the point in spending all of that money to ruin it. Maybe my second or third go round.

Soulie or Birdie, do either of you have pictures.

Hmm, I'll have to see if I can dig some out because it's been a minute since I've worn mine. I've been doing braids lately. I used to have some in my fotki, but that was of my busted 1st app....LOL. Let me see if my hubby has any on this computer... BRB.

Okay. I found some pics. Keep in mind that I'm a SAHM and most days I'm at home chillin'. My applications are not the best, but I don't really care. I must love ya'll here because I NEVER show pics of me, so here you go!

This first one is a body wave unit from Tony Zhang. It was my first. I think it was about two weeks old in the pic. This was about a month or two after I had my son, so my face is a lil chubby! :lachen:

This next unit is a light yaki from Xinxyi wigs (I'm probably spelling it wrong.) This unit was okay, but I think they had a regular yaki unit and tried to make it a light yaki since that's what I said I wanted. My hubby and I took the kids to Chuck E Cheese that day...lol

I've only ever bought stock units. If I do purchase another LF it will be a custom. I don't feel comfortable showing my hairline in a stock because mine is retarded and that makes it hard to ge a good app. But there you have it. If you want to see better apps/LF pics, I can refer you to some fotkis that I've seen. :yep:

Rex did not bleach knots for me. I have done them myself, both the "traditional" way and by using the faux bleach method (Sally Hansen spray).

Thanks for sharing Birdie. I thought I responded earlier but apparently I didn't. You move quick....lol. I liked both but loved the bodywave.

Soulie...I meant the latter, but I will check it out. The search on BHM is not my friend.
